I pick up my car tomorrow yay! Unfortunately dyno wasnt available so it will be back next week sometime for Is38 run.
Good thing i'm not paying for the dyno runs lol tuner really wanted actual data and has done logs via vcds to send back to etuners also car will be a sponsered car for them for shows etc. So win win really
I might be in luck picking up a set of bbs speedlines 19x9 et 48 if i win the auction so that will help with traction as 18x7.5 geminis arent cutting it. Hope they fit without too much fuss...
I hand washed my Moon White RS wagon for the second time since I bought it this afternoon. It was my first try using Duragloss Rinseless wash, which is amazing stuff. I managed to do it all in the garage (to stay out of the sun) with hardly any water spilt on the floor.
Unfortunately we had to rush out so I didn't manage to get a picture.
I also didn't dry the wheels properly after giving them a fairly poor wash and so after a 5 minute drive there's already black spray up behind the rear wheels :-p

Finally enabled traffic sign recognition on my RS, but I'm getting the same error message everyone else gets, when first driving off.
The message in the maxidot is similar, but worded slightly differently - forgot to take a picture of that one.
It's not a major concern, just seems to happen if the camera doesn't pick up it's first road-sign within x-number of seconds or metres of travelling. I'll play around and park the car about 100m from a speed sign and switch off, wait a few minutes, switch on and wait till nav system starts up then drive past the sign and see if it registers the sign and if it stops the warning happening.
One thing I did notice - when resetting the relevant setting (I think it's in control module A5) to select Road Sign Detection, instead of the default Road Sign Fusion - it overlays the camera-recognised speed sign onto the satnav map - and all previous embedded speeds in the satnav map are not displayed.
I guess this is preferable to having incorrect satnav speeds displaying in areas where speeds have been reduced, for example around roadworks or school zones, but is an issue when the camera doesn't recognise a changed speed sign, so you're still driving along at 40 (thinking it's still roadworks reduced speed) and everyone else is zooming past you at 100!
(Oh hang on, that's normal for Qld drivers through roadworks!)

Yes, that's what I tried to describe in the Traffic Sign Recognition thread but perhaps wasn't explicit enough about the display in the nav screen. Fusion means combining satnav & camera, so when it's set to Road Sign Detection you're telling it to only use the camera and ignore the satnav. At least you've confirmed what I saw

Yep - I assumed the fusion setting was to "fuse" the two sets of data together - overriding the satnav with camera-detected signs when it detected something, but it doesn't work at all.
Only detects signs when setting it to the Detection mode rather than Fusion.
I might have a test and set it to the third option (can't remember now what it was called)... something about horizon?
Will report back when I can.
I'll also take screenshots of each step, using the OBD11 device, as it's a bit tricky sometimes to decipher from the default VCDS instructions that are commonly posted on the net.

So i got my car back over the weekend, Holy Sh** what a transformation. Boost and Torque is solid and I can't feel any lag either, clutch seems to be holding well at the moment. Sway bar has transformed the rear end, its nice and level in the corners now. If you have a manual Octavia I can't praise getting the solid shifter bushing kit enough. Gearshifting now feels even more precise and solid, Feels like the gearknob is weighted too. Cheap mod but extremely well worth it, highly recommend!!.
Car is back in for final dyno run later this week. will post figures.
Also temporarily tuned to Unitronic stage 2 and saw 230KW at the wheels! 15KW more than the Viezu also the annoying hesitation/ surge that we saw on the dyno had disappeared as well. Overall better delivery and more power.
Etuners tune is good so far, car gets up and moves very quickly but still nice enough to drive daily or to cruise around.
What I have noticed though is with all the new CTS piping and removal of mufflers when you on boost in 4th after 4000rpm u can hear turbo "ticking" sounds like a sewing machine when on boost will see how it goes if it starts annoying me I'll revert the hoses back to stock.
