Think I saw Fizz say he got a lower mount / dogbone insert a few pages back.Originally posted by donweather View PostHow do you go with that much power through a FWD car and not get axle tramp?
What I'd like to know how much of that axle tramp is still there when the mods are finished !RS

The dogbone insert will reduce axle tramp but it by no means stops it. I've got a Stage 1 tune with dogbone insert and I can still easily axle tramp in 1st gear if I plant the right foot.Originally posted by Tuan View PostThink I saw Fizz say he got a lower mount / dogbone insert a few pages back.

I used the superpro but used the duro 70 instead of the duro 80 to reduce noise and vibration inside. And yes I know the 70 is only recommended for TDI but I just didn't want too much noise and vibration.Originally posted by Tuan View PostThat's no good ... which insert did you go for ?
For me the biggest mod for axle tramp reduction was a change in tyres.
This includes mods to dogbone insert, lower control arm replacment, tyres and springs.

I dont get much if I'm kind to it. lose traction in 1-3 and minor squealing in 4th if I plant it but I'm not looking to drag the car nor race from traffic light to traffic light. So planting it in 5th and 6th i dont suffer anything. but as stated I do have the solid metal dogbone mount, Will be fitting my eibachs soon and will definitely need to look at broader wheels and tyres 8.5 or 9 inch wide with 225 or 235 tyres. I need to also look at replacing the control arms. I've heard good things about the superpro kit. That should hopefully do wonders for axle tramp. Also planning fitting an LSD and upgraded clutch kit at some stage in the new year to get the power down.Originally posted by Tuan View PostThink I saw Fizz say he got a lower mount / dogbone insert a few pages back.

I don't understand why you are still spending up on more power when you can already wheelspin in most gears?
I would have thought that getting more traction would be the priority long ago, or ideally applying the equipment to a 4WD based vehicle?
I have always enjoyed FWD for all the packaging, efficiency and performance advantages it offers for lower power applications but its limitations do become more obvious as power applied increases.Last edited by Gerrycan; 08-12-2016, 10:26 AM.

They didn't do much to reduce mine. As I said, new tyres was the biggest impact followed by the dogbone insert. How much vibration are you getting from a solid metal dogbone insert?Originally posted by Fizz View PostI need to also look at replacing the control arms. Surprisingly it handles the 260kw very well, learn that if i'm going to give it WOT i have to downshift to 4th cant just put my foot down in 5th or 6th as i hit the turbo flutter. But new map is available now to sort thatOriginally posted by donweather View PostThey didn't do much to reduce mine. As I said, new tyres was the biggest impact followed by the dogbone insert.
