Hopefully it won't require too much work to fix. Would be a shame if they had to pull the steering apart, fingers crossed it just needs an alignment done.

Typical alignment issue so no problem for them to fix.
Good spot by you and no bad thing to get a free early alignment done

Hey all, so picked up the new Scout 110 today, very exciting and very happy with the choice.

The only issue so far is that it feels like the front wheels are out of alignment. On a straight level road the wheel is turned to the left far more than I would have thought would be within tolerance. It's going to the dealer as soon as I can get it there next week, but just wondering whether others have had a similar problem?

The wheel alignment maybe perfect. The placement of the steering wheel on the steering column spline is not related to the actual wheel alignment.

Agreed. I hadn't really considered that TBH because I assumed that the steering wheel would be installed straight... Will wait and see what the dealer says next week

With modern variable rate racks, you don't want to be moving the steering wheel on the spline.

Test 1 would be to run the wheel from lock to lock & find the mid-point and ensure that the numpty at the factory hasn't put it on badly.

If the steering wheel is on the midpoint then they need to adjust the tie-rods underneath.

I'd be asking them to check all the angles front & rear.

So after looking this weekend at a my15 rs I checked under the passenger seat and no storage compartment there anymore. I swear they were there in other mkIII, is it because the amp for the canton system is there instead?

Hmm weird, all the ones we saw on the weekend had just a safety vest small compartment there. They are a new dealer so may have very new stock though. Someone here mentioned it recently, but I thought it was regarding the Scout which is why I looked. None of the 5 there had it.

Did you look under the drivers seat? The Audi seats I bought have the box under the drivers side

Can't say I did, there was a 4yr old who may be mine sitting there. I looked into getting the RHS box for our current one.

Yes, only ever serviced my Skoda there. Overall, I thought they were a pretty professional outfit. The cost was always lower than what I had allowed for in my salary packaging which were based on pre-purchase estimates provided by Colin.

The only issue I ever had was warranty work. If they found something during servicing that required fixing under warranty, they had to send off to Skoda for permission before ordering the parts and doing the work. So, a warranty repair identified during a standard service always meant a second trip back to them.
