Hopefully a result for you! Socks when things go wrong. As an interesting note, I find the aircon on the mk3 much better than the mk2. Seems to bring temps down a lot faster

Fingers crossed! We don't have kids yet so the rear vents are closed to maximise the cooling up front, but coming from a Mazda, the aircon unit can't really compare to Japanese / Korean cars.

We have rear vents open at all times, and the wife and kids ask to turn it down lol. I have manual ac though. Run it on 5/6 at first, then drop to 3/6. This is in 35 deg, 85% humidity weather too. It's not as good as our commodores, but it's better than the last few jap cars we have had.

I found the Octavia's aircon to be quite good even when living in western Sydney on 40+ days (tints help of course). Rear vents FTW, especially with kiddlets.

I borrowed a Rapid from the dealer on a hot day and its air con was the equivalent of an asthmatic cat blowing over an ice cube.

The inclusion of rear vents was one of the reasons we chose the Octavia. Funny thing though, the Ambition base model doesn't include the vents and this isn't mentioned in the brochure anywhere. Wouldn't you be pissed if you waited six months for the car to arrive and it didn't include something you expected to have.

I leave the rear vents open to keep the car "wholistically" cool. Nobody sits back there but I think it keep the car cooler & fresher.

Wife wanted rear vents in her car... then chose a car without rear vents. Kids are always complaining. The third row is almost unbearable.

If you option the travel pack (which lets face it, 99% of buyers would) then it gets them.

Yep the rear vents we're why we didn't get another 6. Even better if they were in the side pillars like the superb and our Santa fe.

I've seen a fair few without the travel pack, and I was pretty close to ordering without it. It has more things I really didn't want than things I wanted (which should have been standard anyway). If the car had been delivered without rear vents I would have been even more ropable.

Yep, 303 or the einszett 1z that I mentioned are awesome interior products. I wouldn't use anything else

Hi guys, just bought my Octavia two weeks ago and have been reading through this thread. It's a fairly steep learning curve coming from a ratty old Holden Commodore but thanks to this thread i have picked up quite a lot.

I'm a fan of 303 but found CarPro PERL longer lasting and can be used on tyres as well as plastic exterior trim like 303. Might work out cheaper as you can dilute it depending on use. Either way you won't be disappointed with those recommendations.

Hey guys, anyone notice a sizzling sound from the turbo after driving (Have to have the bonnet open) Doesn't sound normal but who knows with these crazy future cars right.
