K4neX - I had the air con hoses re-routed in some parts as they were rattling against the chassis and causing a buzzing rattle in the driver door trim ( sounded like a fridge buzz near the driver window sill). There is a Skoda TPI about it, apparently can cause all sorts of rattles and noises. To be honest doesn't sound like the culprit but try mentioning it if all else fails.

While my buzzing door was fixed, I still have this weird creaking rattle sound which we assumed was air con hose related. The only 2 times I didn't hear it was on my way to dealer to get rs speed, 3rd time lucky at last minute before pulling in to let the tech out it started. I originally thought there was a loose rattle or mounting but thinkng it is a creak of some sort as it seems to come out more as ambient temp it gets hotter and roads are bumpier, at a standstill it disappears even when revving out. This will be 3 days and 150km travelled at the dealers!

If anyone experienced something similar let me know (MY15 RS manual hatch).

Hi maz, thanks for the tip, will bring the TPI up when I drop it off.

      • So I introduced my two Czech kiddies to each other... No need to explain the one on the left. The one on the right doesn't belong to me (I pay for her by the hour), but is an Evektor Sportstar LSA.

        • The black looks mean, but keeping it clean is a pain in the bum.

          • Dropped my car off to dealer for a third time and now they are saying the rattling/creaking sound is result of leak in fuel hose to engine but insisted there is nothing to worry about and is safe to drive. Part will take 2-3 weeks to arrive and now this will be a 4th visit; how they missed this when I told them about it at 1000km inspection, I doubt they even bothered looking. They told me it was due to TPI where air con hoses rattled against the chassis but their fix did nothing for either rattling or the buzzing from my door.

Apparently, the fuel pressure variance is causing the rattling noise which I find hard to believe it would cause the rattling I hear. The noise only comes when the vehicle is moving regardless of engine speed or pedal position, it will do it in neutral or 6th gear. The bigger the bump the louder the rattle. I also noticed that the warmer it gets the noisier it gets but not 100%.

I'm very frustrated and angry at the service received so far, I'm sick of taking it in, told it is fixed and then I take it for test drive and to be told to book it in again as they didn't fix it. Can I take it for warranty repairs to any Skoda dealer or does it need to be the one I bought it at. Unfortunately, there is only 2 in Perth and one outer Perth although I think they're all done through VW. First impressions not good so far, might contact Skoda Aus and see where it leaves me if after these repairs. Even trying to call the service Dept is a 20minute affair with hold music and constant disconnections. Apart from the actual issue of fuel leaking (if that isn't alarming enough) I'm afraid it has nothing to do with the rattling issue.

            • That's terrible service you are experiencing. Do you mind advising which of the Perth Skoda dealerships you are receiving such poor service from?

You can go to any Skoda service centre. Terms of warranty are in your service book IIRC.

You've got the 2x Barbagallo shops & DVG.

Skoda service options suck - esp for warranty issues.

                • Call skoda head office. I have had successful results speaking to them.

tell them how disappointed you are with the service, quality of the car, blah blah but be firm with them. don't take a 'we will call you back' just wait on hold while they 'look' for a supervisor.

                  • To be fair mazstar19080's problem sounds like a difficult one to locate/fix. I have a slight rattle at times near drivers shoulder/ seatbelt area. Intermittent. I would not even try to get it fixed as it just opens up a can of worms when panels and trim are potentially made worse with no surety it will be fixed.

Leaking fuel however I would get seen to

I can live with minor creaks and rattles but both ones I have are unreasonable. One is an awful loud buzzing sound at my ear level at about 2k RPMS which is where you usually cruise around in. The other sounds like something is loose and moving about (apparently fuel leak).

Just received customer feedback email so not sure to tell them now or after I give them chance to fix the issues (for the 4th time).

I get the exact same buzz noise at ear level from door/B Pillar, usually when decelerating in any gear and passing through 2000rpm.
It does not occur during acceleration or if revved out of gear.
Apparent after a cold start but when the engine/gearbox is fully warmed up (and running smoother) then the buzz disappears,

There are other reported incidents on Briskoda (same revs) but limited number of rectifications.

One person reported he traced his to the horizontal plastic by the window (?) which had come loose and he pushed it manually back into place and that fixed it.
I cannot find anything similar but suspect it may be a vertical plastic/rubber strip that presses externally on the window. My buzz seemed to go when I lowered the window fully but could not be sure because of the extra noise with the window open.

When I fiddled with the external strip it did seem to reduce the problem to the warm up phase, before it was present all the time.
                        Will have to experiment more.
Became aware of the buzz about 10 days ago.

                          • I've just clocked over 2k. No issues, apart from the tailgate switch (on the tailgate) which stopped working 2 days after I took delivery! The sales guy said he organised for someone from service to contact me, and they needed the car for the day and wasn't sure if I could get a loan car - so I haven't bothered taking it back yet (picked it up 31/10/14).. Other than the annoyance of having to take the key out of the ignition to use the remote to open the tailgate for school drop offs, i've been living with it.

                            • I had similar buzzing noise (same rpm range), although I found it to originate from under the driver's door then resonate through the door and only happen after the car has warmed up not cold. I told the service centre about this noise and postulate that it might be fuel line rattle. First visit, they fixed it somewhat, noise came back after few weeks. Second visit, they fixed it for good (touch wood) whilst the car was being serviced (they also did a good job fixing rattle inside the front passenger's door), this was four month ago.

I do experience very minor buzzing noise that comes from the seatbelt feeder (about ear level), the plastic is quite thin and highway driving tend to resonate it. The noise stop whenever I press my finger on it.
