Good news,
went to another dealer in Sydney and said i knew someone in Vic who got a certain price on the Ambition plus. He said he could do very close which he did and I ended up with a fraction under 9% discount on an MY16 Ambition plus with Tech pack, Auto boot, extended warranty and metallic paint.
I had spoken to him on the weekend regarding cars that he has that qualified for the 1.2% finance offer and had a good vibe. Really easy to deal with and i now have paid a deposit and have my invoice. If people are interested i'm happy to give details.
thanks to Brad helping me see sense and a big thanks to Beeker who i was able to use your recent purchase to price mine. Will find out next week on approx times, they have some on order already they may be able to switch which could speed it up a little.
Anyway out of curiosity when do people generally pay the remainder of the invoice? I'm hoping close to delivery but would like to see what others experiences are.Vehicle: Octavia Ambition + Brilliant Silver Wagon, Tech Pack, Auto boot

Welcome to the family and congratulations!
You pay your invoice out on the day you pick up the car. You have the choice of arranging finance with Skoda or with an external provider, in which case you give them cheque along with any other finance arrangement you have made.

I have received the following update from the dealer, "I have finally had word from Patrick’s Auto Care in regards to the transportation of your vehicle to our dealership. We will be expecting the vehicle at our Pre Delivery Department on Thursday at 330pm. Once I have the vehicle in our ”hot little hands” I will prepare the vehicle for delivery.
Thank you for your patience again and I will ensure that your delivery process is an enjoyable experience. I will keep you updated with a delivery date and time".
After more than 12 months waiting I am not getting excited but fingers crossed we may be asked to collect our car this Saturday.New Arrival: 2015 Skoda Octavia vRS TSI DSG Combi (MY15) | Black Magic Pearl| Tech Pack with RVC | Comfort Pack | 18" Black Turini Wheels | Auto Boot | Panoramic Sunroof | Chrome Pack | Alarm | Extended Warranty Ordered 31/05/14 Collected 6/6/15

Hey,
Dealer tried to sell me the usual tinting, paint protection, fabric protection stuff. I think they were offering $1600 or $1800 supposedly end of fin year tinting is free in the package. Looking at reflect effect website it's paint protection was about $900 for a wagon , Tinting around $300, interior $400 which would be about the $1600 mark.
Firstly, has anyone had the interior done? was it worth it and what really is the purpose?
Secondly, assuming they are all a good idea ( i want tinting regardless) should i just go with the dealer considering it could be competitive although i have only compared to 1 competitor?Vehicle: Octavia Ambition + Brilliant Silver Wagon, Tech Pack, Auto boot

Paint protection and tint are definitely a must, but I figured I'd rather pay half the price for Opticoat and find a tint installer where I can choose the brand tint I want rather than going with what ever the dealership has lying around. In terms of interior protection, there's an abundancy of information on this forum and others on how to DIY at a fraction of the cost offered by the dealership.

I too was quoted ridiculous prices for paint protection, tint, and interior protection by a very attractive, very tall, very young female sales assistant after signing up for the car (sounds like a pretty standard "protection racket").
There was no way I was going to pay anything like that on the spot, and without doing any research, and having talked to a few car nuts at work I was referred to a local detailer who does Opticoat, and has references as long as your arm for cars from Mazdas to Lamborghinis.
He quoted me $330 for the tint (Carbon XP), $550 for paint protection(OptiCoat Pro+), $200 for interior protection (OptiCoat), and said if I do the lot he'll also to OptiCoat the wheels and glass.
I plan to get the lot done as soon as I can when my car finally arrives.
