As for the extended warranty, didn't manage to work it into the deal, but I change cars every 2-3 years, so wasn't a deciding factor for this particular purchase.

They still have the offer of "free" extended warranty if you take out the Skoda finance.

I was paying cash for the car but I financed $10k of it for a 1 year term just to get the extended warranty. Interest rate is < 1% more than the home loan and the setup fee was ~$400 so overall I got the extended warranty for about $500.

Did you confirm, you actually got the extended warranty, while some dealers said it was with any finance. one dealer said it was only with the 1.2% finance for a 2014 MY15 model. After checking fine print of the offer i agreed that it was only on the 1.2% finance, but would be interested to see if you managed to get it anyway.

The only documentation I have is the dealer filled out and stamped/signed the log book, ticking the "extended" warranty option.. They also said it would be reflected in their system but I'm not entirely comfortable with this..

I was told similar to you by other dealers however i couldn't find any actual document/flyer/website etc showing there was a 2nd promotion running all year. I would have been keen to do something similar but didn't want to risk it, in the end i just negotiated an extended warranty.

Anyway good luck, might be worth following up anyway

Can take a little while to show up apparently. Never worried me, had it in writing on the contract.

My app shows 5 years (3 normal +2 extended) it can take weeks for the app to correctly reflect your warranty period. I'd give it about 6-8 weeks and if hasn't changed by then, speak to your dealer. When i bought my octavia, i didn't receive any documentation either about the extended warranty, i was just told by the sales manager that i've got it and that they send the paperwork to Skoda AU.

I think you will find with finance you also get three years included servicing as part of the care pack. My preferred dealer isn't participating in the promo but the new one closer to me is. Didn't realize it was 5.39% from the website it looked like 8. Worth thinking about now.

Take care with the financing deal. I couldn't get the extended warranty as part of the financing deal, and with very high set-up costs (over $1,100) and penalties for early payout I instead opted for a bank loan. If I did a straight accounting treatment, the Skoda finance might have come out ahead but there's other factors to consider too.

I'm about to get mine, but there's been a snag where the dealership was originally going to deliver my vehicle to my town, (200km round trip from dealership) but now they are saying they can't and don't know when they will be able to. So they are saying if I come to them then they will give me a full tank of gas, carpet mats and cargo mat to make up for it.

I was wondering, were these things the dealer gave you anyway?
