  • Woohoo my car is loaded on the Titania. It's taking the long way to Australia but at least it's on it's way... Assuming I gets complied within a week of landing it'll be 8 months from ordering to pick up.

Can understand why you'd be pissed! The ordering system seems like a lottery...

My dealer couldn't explain why my order pushed through so quickly, especially considering other people (from the same dealer) ordered months before me and their RS' are yet to be built? I was told a minimum of 6 months from order, so was hoping for an August delivery.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

      • I'm surprisingly relaxed about it actually... I was always expecting a long wait, but more clarity about the process and what's going on would have been nice.
If I was in a hurry I guess it might have been a different story.

Hi, new here, ordered march 23. Built last week. 132kw elegance with the lot. Dealer advised today that there will not be 132kw engine option for my16 in Australia. May be the reason for fast tracking those already ordered with that engine. VRS would not be affected. Probably means multilink suspension now limited to upper range of Skoda's..

            • 132TSI to be exact is what will no longer available. Non scout/Vrs will only have the 110tsi petrol option. I am quite glad to have ordered the wagon (grey metal) with the 132tsi and thus better suspension (need it). This is probably a marketing exercise to differentiate the passat/golf further from the base model Skoda's and open up more opportunities for next year's superb.

              • Might have to be with non compliance to Euro 6 emissions. All MY16 cars will be Euro 6 compliant

                • I suspect that this not the case. Euro 6 compliant 132tsi engine are available in German MY16 "style" have class b efficiency rating and "greentec " stop start system. It seems that different markets get different options. Germans buy 19000 Skoda's a month so get more barganing power I imagine.

Would have liked an elegance with 132kw 6dsg 4x4

                    • New Octavia

                      Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing an Octavia wagon to replace my old 99 Ford Laser, I would be keen for an Ambition Plus if i can get the 1.2% finance and 2 year warranty, with or without tech pack.

Alternatively, i would settle for an Ambition with travel pack, metallic paint and 2 years extended warranty.

I went to a dealer on the weekend, he was trying to make a sale saying would i buy today for $29k, then $28k and then $27k. I was tempted but said i wanted to think things over. As i was leaving i re-hashed the specs i wanted and confirmed the price of $27k and he says no i said "would you buy right now for $27k, i'd have to speak to my manager first but should be $28-$29k" Is this a common tactic? Would he have sold for $27k?

anyway what does everyone think would be a good price for either model?

                      • Absolutely yes, it means he can do the deal ... it just means please don't try to get me any lower on price. If he comes back and says sorry, can't get $27k for you after setting that expectation in your mind, he has just shot himself in the foot. Normally he will say he needs to speak to his manager but if you can give me your credit card to take the deposit from, I might be able to persuade him

                        • Hate sales tactics like that. I'm sure I'm going to see the gamut of them later this year when I order. Crap about the 132tsi going, awesome car option.

If you do intend buying then the correct response is "Yes I would buy for $27k but not a penny more. If you can't get $27k then don't waste my time"

                            • Is that $27k for the Ambition Plus wagon, 'drive away' DSG, paint and 2 year warranty? That would be very good pricing.

When I bought my Ambition with tech pack a year ago the major difference between it and the Ambition Plus was a couple of thousand dollars.
For the extra cost of the Ambition Plus you got 'Fatigue warning' and the both the driver and passenger seats were fully adjustable for height and lumbar support.

I was not worried about missing the fatigue warning tech but after my first 3 hour drive in the car my back was telling me I had made a serious mistake about the lack of lumbar support.
My back and the seat subsequently seem to have resolved most their differences but I probably should have got the Ambition Plus for any really long trips we may do.

                                Hi,

No, $27k for Ambition with Travel pack, Metallic paint and extended warranty. The difference between Ambition and Ambition plus is about $2.5k if you get the travel pack with the Ambition. The tech pack on top of that is another $3,900. So would come to about $36,790 before negotiating, probably a little more than what i want to spend which if i couldn't get the 1.2% finance.
