Two words 'it better'. I've been amazingly calm through this ordeal, but I would lose my **** if the car got wrecked now.....

It won't be an issue for us day to day, car will be in garage (we can walk to train for work it's only a few mins away) and both myself and the wife are savvy enough to use weather radar and discretion when our and about - never had a car damaged by hail yet.

Went to see my dealer the other day and the best he can offer is to sell me a trade in at the the trade in price and buy the car back off me when my car arrives (at the sale price). I would have to pay for rego transfer etc in that time..... Dealer is avoiding my emails and calls. Patience has just about run out.

The worst part is, from speaking with Skoda, each dealer is allocated a certain number of cars. Once they sell their allotment, that's it for the year. The number of cars coming into the country is restricted, and each car is coded to a specific dealer, and its very difficult for dealers to share cars (and most dont want to because they know they have a rare commodity).

Was your car manual or auto daMama? Is it possible to call up dealers around you (all of sydney too) and see if any of them have a "like" car in stock? You may not get it as cheap, but at least you'll get it quicker. Has your "new" one been given a build date yet?

If this is true, no wonder they struggle with their dealers. There is no incentive for a dealer to excel in customer service to build sales - they can sell their quota just by being mediocre.

This is what people including dealers keep fighting for. Dealers are not fussed when someone cancels an order either as it gives them an in stock car to flog for even more. Woohoo, only rain no hail, car is safe for another week. Got a call from Skoda finally. Telling me what the dealer has organised. They also said they would organise 'something' for staying with the order. We will see, I just want the car.

That's better! I love that factor, I get people asking me what car I have when I'm near it or when they see it! And people that I tell that I own a Skoda, they know the car is good. Not good, but a really great brand and car.

New Octavia ....when? How Much?

So now my week 38, then week 42, is now week 44 build. I'll have to talk to fair trading soon. For an April 11 order. I'm calming down before phoning them back at Skoda customer service.

K - talking to salesman today and it really is the luck of the draw ( and option dependant of course). He had a blue, manual, hatch, 18"BP on the floor ready for delivery today - factory order dated early august.
He admitted he'd had a wagon on order for another customer for quite some months too.

Ordered my vRS petrol wagon about 3 weeks ago, haven't got a confirmed production date but supposed to be early Jan with delivery late March - early April. I had a choice of cars for immediate delivery.

Welcome to the vRS waiting list. I am curious whether you ordered a stock vRS or have also ordered any options as I spoke to my dealer today and she still couldn't give me a confirmed production date but did suggest it would be late Jan with likely delivery in April.

At least I did get to take a showroom vRS for an extended drive today, it was nice to remind myself why it is worth waiting for an Octavia vRS, I was seriously thinking about cancelling the order and waiting for the new Passat in October or maybe looking at the new Mondeo when it arrives in February.

My wife has her heart set on the vRS and has been enjoying shopping online for accessories she wants to add so I probably would have also been looking for a divorce attorney if I had cancelled the order.
