New Octavia ....when? How Much?

10 days and my car arrives to be unloaded.

Question though. What sd card do people use (size/class) and what format will the bolero read? Can I use FLAC?
Was planning to make folders for music type (dance, modern, 90s, 80s, rock, etc) and just chuck everything in there in its appropriate folder.

Failing that, has anyone tried to stream Pandora via BT?

I only have the Swing (and 8 speaker), which is surprisingly good to a half deaf person like me, but it is a GIGO situation and you must have higher bit rate recordings.
The problem is that most systems are adequate when stationary but at speed then the normal 75 to 80 db of road/wind noise affects the quality of everything, but my tinnitus drowns that out anyway
I thought that FLAC was only possible on Columbus, unless something has changed.

Most of my mp3s are 320k, but I also have a bit of flac stuff. I have the canton setup and have heard the higher quality stuff makes a big difference.

FLAC on columbus sounds awesome. Biggest issue I have found is with video files. Have to be a max of 576P and a pretty low bit rate. I gave up with video. DVD works well though. Turned off all the artificial surround processing also.

Ok. I'm still pretty pi**ed.
I mean, even if I take another car, its not the same - its not the car I ordered.
You know what I was offered instead? A wagon with 500km in silver! Um, its not new, its used AND the dealer knows I dont like silver! I think I am going to have to start upping the anti cause that was just plain rude. The dealer is putting a business case together on the Elegance. I have to see what they can give me price wise to see if I accept the offer.

I've also got a buyer for my old car, which I hope to off-load next Friday, then fly out to the tropics the next day and forget about this whole ordeal for 2 weeks.

I hope it's not the dealer, because the great service at that dealership is what sold my wife on a Skoda in the first place and I'll be going back to place my next order there some time next year.

I really do think it's the dealer that f'd up. I really dont see how the error would occur at the factory. Whoever you end up using here, make sure you triple check the order!

I sincerely hope you get a favourable resolution soon. I would take the dealer's reasons with a pinch of salt and escalate this with Skoda Australia. Good luck!

I'm gonna say it would be 100% the dealers fault. They enter the order into the system. With the amount of checks and quality systems in place it would be pretty hard for what is a wagon code to be swapped into a sedan at the factory without anyone noticing.

Totally his fault! I dont see the factory getting it wrong.

I'd ****ing lose it. The wait times are ludicrous, you'd think they'd check orders over multiple times before submitting....

I've been pretty calm and polite to the dealer, even though I have had to chase him up today. I dont think the reality of the situation has hit me yet.....but I am starting to lose patience.

Good luck! Maybe see if you can get an rs upgrade for free, and take an in country model...

On a side note, because Gerrycan mentioned buying stuff, I bought front and rear dash cams today. G1WC's but if I'm not happy with the front, I'll get a panorama g, and put one g1wc on the jazz.

Hearing these stories makes me nervous. I have committed so much to this being exactly as I ordered..... I will be VERY upset if it's ****ed up. VERY.

But, benefit of the doubt, my dealer had been good so far, just counting down the days now.

And the growl in RS/Sport mode is a bit well.. odd. I know it's just the sound actuator making the noise.... I got the sound actuator disconnected in my last car - Polo GTI as it vibrated.... didn't like the fake noise but it's certainly much nicer in the RS Octavia!

Ordered mine back in late April, early May. Car came in Early Oct..... or was it mid Sept, Barbagallo held the car until today.... which is extremely nice of them. Please see June for a great deal at Skoda in Osb Park. Top sales woman and will assist with any Skoda enquiry!

I live in West Perth, but I travel all over the place in Perth, as far as Two Rocks down to Mandurah - so I drive around.

The glass roof is great, adaptive cruise is awesome.... though used it on a main road with two lanes, a car was sitting in the right - to turn right and the Skoda hit the brakes comfortably, and worked well. Very happy. Have to get use to the car it self, air con, screens etc.

Couldn't be happier!!

I see Merc C-Klasses, Golf GTI's, and other cars worth a bit more, or a tad more and laugh. I have so much more in my car then they have!

What a growl on the inside from the engine.

Glass roof open, music on, steering stiffened, adaptive headlamps that work beautifully.... What else could I have asked for?

Yes June is a very friendly Sales Manager and I was happy to receive a call from her two weeks ago advising of the availability of the Comfort Pack; the electric memory seats with memory function mirrors was a big plus for the wife and I as it will be a shared vehicle; a pleasant bonus for having to wait so long. I don't think the heated leather seats will be of much use here in barmy Perth, especially as I will probably fit some sheepskin seats covers.

Keep up the reviews Matt, anything to pass the time until our vehicle arrives is great. I have been reading lots of the VRS owners reviews from Briskoda. I am already planning the first cruise we will take down to Esperance for a bit of camping and photography.
