  • Stiv: As a matter of fact, the C-class is a little bit smaller than the competitor (A4, 3 series, etc). They addressed this in the new model, but i've read report that the space on the rear is still not as good as the competitor.

Cheers, and for all the other points the other members brought up is why the octavia really is an awesome package, price, size of boot and rear seats, it's bang for buck a true winner. Now fingers crossed the next one I try is fine.
oh and I learnt something new yesterday. If you want to order the alarm on the spec sheet of a new car, you don't have to tick the box for 400ish dollars as from 2015 model it's included in the tech pack. Winning

      • The alarm came with my tech pack free of charge.2014 model.

        • Yeah, I was of the opinion that tech pack always included the alarm (as it includes KESSY, and KESSY includes the alarm......). I'm expecting mine with a tech pack to have an alarm! (because it has KESSY)

          • Did anyone else who already ordered get an agreement from their dealer on the price of the tech pack? Mine put it down as $2500 and said he'd refund the difference if it was less. Now its confirmed at $2200 for RS w/RVC I'm wondering whether to ask for cash back or use it as credit for other goodies.

Hi Stiv. I've recently purchased a RS Petrol DSG Wagon and have not experienced any booming/pressurised feelings etc. so far. I did though notice something like what you described when I test drove the RS hatch at the dealership, although was enjoying the car too much to make note of it really. Assume your test drive was in the hatch?

Overall don't have a bad word on the car. It's a great all round drive, practical and fast when you want it to be. The only thing I wish I could have purchased was the tech pack addition, although I wasn't in a position for the long wait.

If you (or anyone else on the forum) have any questions on the car from a day to day drive point of view just let me know.

I'm curious if you were given any advice on running it in and/or you've noticed the feel changing much with kms driven.

The sales guy just advised to drive it normally. I know the manual says no full throttle and keep it under 75% rev limit for the first 1K. I didn't redline it, although did give it some full throttle right from the start to bed the rings in properly (after the engine was warm of course). I've done around 2.5K now on the clock and the engine does feel like it is loosening up a bit. It's hard to say though to be sure as right from the first day it went well.

                  • Thanks buddy. If the cargo gods smile on me I might get mine just before our planned road trip down to the Vic Alps. Guess I'd just have to drive it sensibly in low to mid rev ranges. Kids in the back anyway. Safety? Nah, don't won't vomit over my shoulder on Mt. Kosciuszko.

hi buckers, it was the rs hatch, it was specked up exactly how I wanted it except it had a sunroof. The sunroof was closed at the time. Roof and shade. I'm not riding it off as yet as I had a laugh in the car and it's pretty awesome. So will try hopefully Monday or Tuesday next week one more to make a decision. I doubt it will happen again. Glad you like your car, and wish you got the tech pack...it's fantastic value.

                        • I've been umming and ahhing about putting down for a new RS for a few months ago. Talking to the guys who work on my Scirocco yesterday has pretty much convinced me to get one as our family car.

I did one up on configuration yesterday which came to $48k (RS Wagon, DSG, Tech Pack w/ Camera, 19" Black Pack, Automatic Tailgate).

What sort of discount are people getting on these? 5 - 10%?

Not sure about that. I have followed that Briskoda booming thread pretty closely. I thought there were wagons mentioned there. Is it shocks, resonant metal work, blocked venting, hatch sealing or something else? It also seems to be involved with all models but with no consistency in models effected. Once you tie this in with known issues with faulty shock absorbers and a recall in some markets who knows the true cause. Also possible only in cars made in 2013. The early demo cars here were made in 2013 I thought.

RS dsg wagon tech pack with 9% discount. That's basically not charging for tech pack and free driveaways. From others, it seems to vary by dealer. Reckon you have more chance when ordering extras. Good luck if you go for it.
