Would be interesting to compare with equivalent period 12 months earlier.

You wouldn't have the overall Skoda sales would you with model breakdown (Fabia / Roomster / Superb / Yeti)?

There was a thread in here somewher with the monthly Skoda sales - blowed if I can find it now. From what i can see there doesn't appear to be much upward movement in sales.

    • It's incredibly hard to make anything of those numbers at the moment as they have such long waits for orders to arrive. We should start seeing the numbers improve as more stock arrives. Most of the RS sales aren't going to show up until the 2nd half of the year. Would be incredibly frustrating for dealers to have such a long time before sales are finalised. Long waits are not good for anyone.

      • Just waiting for the commissions would drive the sales guys insane.

I'm not sure how it should work but when I worked for the service department at Dominellis a million years ago we got paid a commission on any accessories we sold & when I left they didn't want to pay me the commission on any sales that I'd made that hadn't been finalised - nor did they intend to send a cheque if they were finalised in the future. They were shockers to work for so it was probably just them being horrible.

These figures would be nice but you need a premium subscription to VFACTS and I don't have one.

When you consider there were more Range Rover Sports sold, ie a subsection of a niche brand for a niche sector, than all of the Skoda range - I think Skoda's efforts in Australia are nothing short of ****ing pathetic.

          • I'm pretty sure that back in 2010 they were doing <100 units of Skoda (all models) /month so I guess regularly cracking 200/month just for Octavia would be cause to lay on hookers & cocaine at Skoda AU head office.

That happens everywhere. My company used to pay commission once a year and if you left even 2 days before like one person did...bye bye commission. They do it quarterly now but still same deal, no prorata.

                    • Have a look back a few pages you will find plenty of people who have posted exactly that.

                      • You can pretty much the see the pattern of production and EOFY sales and end of CY sales in those figures. Now they will have stock limitations also skewing sales to particular times of year. I would say 98% of RS sales wanted the tech pack etc, it was nice to launch it earlier, but when you show goodies people can't even really order yet it doesn't make much sense. In effect anyone who has ordered one already was a prelaunch sale pretty much until wk 22 comes into play. The optimist in me hopes by the end of the year presales will give them enough to work with to start buying in floor stock which should help the sales.

Agree, for the same period of time Subaru sold almost triple of their new WRX, which was introduced couple of weeks after RS (similar size, similar performance, similar price): Subaru WRX smashes Australian sales record | CarAdvice

Very sad, that a poor management ruins what is in general very good car...

                          • Again it's an unknown brand to most Australians. Same with Opel. They'll struggle but continue to sell. Not so much a struggle but low number of sales.

I was surprized when I saw my dealer yesterday a whole pile of RS orders on her desk!

I said no! I don't want to see RS's everywhere!

                            • Just returned from test driving the 132 tsi and 110 tdi Elegance wagons. Realised there would be a lack of power compared to my vRS ,but that 132 is awful, have to rev the guts out of it to go, and then the 7 speed DSG couldn t make up its mind what gear it was in. The TDI is much smoother, more grunty and the 6 speed DSG is soooo much better. You can however feel the difference on bumpy roads with the solid rear end in the TDI.
Called in at the local Mazda dealer to test the 6 Wagon TDI too. The motor is less refined, bit slower off the mark but once moving the torque is incredible. The interior seems nasty and gimmicky and will quickly date.
The big difference is the extra $14k Mazda want for a change over, they re dreaming the Mazda isn t any where near as refined. Why pay more for less ? Bunch of "wankers" too, got shunted from one "bimbo" to another, then they tried to tell me how much better the Mazda was, but apparently none of them had driven the "new" Octavia. I ended up having to raise my voice and get aggressive to get my keys back, sort of place that gives dealers a bad name.

                              • I wanted to check out the Mazda 6... but i don't like the interiors that much. Screens not really up to size, silly flipping up display to show speed and the plastics!
