Had factory Bluetooth fitted whilst it was in....$800

And the wastegate rattle fixed under warranty no questions asked.

      replaced the oem battery.
      Octavia 1.9TDi - 4 years - 75,000km
Gave up the ghost with no warning, fortunatley at a servo over the road from a workshop that stocked a 'Century' vw clone battery.

Surely if the car has the smarts to tell me 'brake pad worn' or 'right rear stop light not working' it could warn the battery is almost knacked...

Wow you're pretty lucky that that servo 'conveniently' had one on hand.

Took my RS through Gazza's Car Wash, in Mittagong... Brought it home and noticed the scratches.
          Damn driveway!
Oh, well. At least the paint is covered by a lifetime warranty! Yay, dealership!

Also realised I've been doing an insane amount of K's... Car was first rego'd on the 23rd Dec, and its already at 7,800km!!

X-Pack. Its something the dealership conned me into. Full protection kit for leather, interiors, exterior paints, etc.
Although, $1,600 would eventually pay for itself with the "lifetime paint protection." If it gets scratched, I take it in to Allan Mackays and they buff it all and whatnot, for free.

The leather on the front drivers seat is also starting to fray a little. Wonder if that can be fixed, too.

I wonder how many other people are racking up such high km's.

                a. you got ripped off (unless b. proves false of course ) .. that kind of protection pack can sometimes be negotiated down to half that price, sometimes even less.

                b. I reckon the extras-chick and/or salesman was whispering some insanely LARGE porkies in your ear.

                c. if they buff out a scratch then the sealant (that you've paid big bikkies for) over that area/panel gets removed in the process.

.. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong though, in which case it would be a sweet deal, assuming they reapply the sealant after each fix of course.

As a detailing nerd, I shiver a little when I hear the words 'paint protection' and I cry a little when I hear 'dealer' and 'buff' in one sentence.

me too, have a burnt spot on my FIAT 500 where they cleaned and polished the car after it went in for a service. they denied it, but how do i prove it?

anyway, a good wax will do wonders! claying the car 6-12 months will keep it looking new. lucky i dont have to lift a finger to do that, my mate is like you, tooch. he is a detailing nerd lol

This is why when my car(s) get serviced, I leave a note inside saying 'PLEASE DO NOT WASH!' and I also tell the service advisor to make sure it doesn't get washed!

that's a good idea, i'll be sure to do the same. i loved taking care of my old A4, and with the new octy, OCD is kicking in infinitely more. can't wait to put a fresh coat of wax on it!

                          • Ok, so help me spend some money
All of these things will be purchased eventually, and all are around the same price, but I only want to buy two of these things right now.

1: Superskoda bits (honeycomb grille, rear bumper protector, couple of misc bits)
2: 9w7 Bluetooth unit (my car has no BT currently)
                            3: Eibach/H&R lowering springs

                            What to do?!

Go the Eibach springs. I've got a used set of springs on hand since my kw install so can sell to you for a good deal.
