Yes it's a bench tune in those ecus as they are encrypted. Revo and Ottinger as well as a few others do a tune for them.

Well this is a little confusing. I had also been told our ECUs are encrypted but after the recent VW diesel pollution scandal, I have found the ECUs are the same across the VW group diesel vehicles. Now I know the Tiguan with the same motor as my Yeti can have an engine map uploaded via the OBD2 port but last time I checked, I was told it's an ECU out and opened up for a tune on my Skoda Yeti with the same motor. I just don't understand, same engine, same ECU.
I'm not an expert with these however I think a lot of the time the installer won't know for sure if it's a bench or port tune until they connect to your vehicle.

Has anyone had any experience with Recode Tuning Systems on their Skoda? I like that they actually run the car on the dyno as part of the process rather than seeming to just flash a 'canned' tune and drive it around the block like it seems many others do.
I'm getting prices for a few of the 'usual suspects' in Sydney at the moment for a Stage 1 tune on my '12 VRS TSi.

It's just a VW and he's done plenty of them in all stages of tune.
A mate of mine who lives at Castle Hill had his "R" done there many moons back and is/was very happy. There were plenty of options much closer to home.
The day I was there getting some O2 outputs looked at there was a vRS (on the Port Hacking Auto side) & another Golf R (exhaust bracket issues) there.
My Dad recently moved near there and gets his Honda serviced by them - he said they were all very nice to him. He's 87 years old and friendly so everyone is nice to him.
I doubt you'll be disappointing if you give them a try.
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Bluefin from Superchips - $949 (controller in the mail, so no 'feedback' - but can return to stock easily)
Revo from VW Village - $1099 (well renowned brand, but an on-road 'test drive' only to check for faults)
RTS from RTS- $1249 (local operator, with before/after dyno runs and logging of AFRs etc)
The price differences are negligible, so leaning towards the RTS for the greater level of service and I've never put a car on a dyno before. Still waiting to hear back on a GIAC tune from Exoticars.
I have a My16 rs Octavia, now about 3 months old with 5000km, I have been looking into a stage 1 tune. So far the information I have is that APR does have a tune, but are yet to find a way to install it, and I had contact with John at DNA tune, and he advised they are probably about 3 months or so from developing a tune for this model. I am curious to what others have found with the my16 model, and a stage 1 tune.

are u sure? the mk3 RS has the same ECU as the mk7 GTi, so there should be no issues installing it.
if that is the case, then APR Australia would/should not be advertising the stg 1 tune for the mk3 Octavia RS. They do have it listed as available for the mk3 Octavia.
MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

I was advised from APR ' we have the tune, but no delivery method'. Are there other tunes which have been confirmed available for the my16 RS? Similarly John from DNA tune advised this model is yet to have a tune from DNA.
