      • Howzit, I'm looking to buy a Polo GTI after researching small second hand performance cars for under 20k. On paper they seem to be a standout from the crowd but have not driven one yet. Im currently into modified Nissan K11 Micra's—they are an awesome little car and respond well to turbo and SC conversions, soooo much fun for little $$. But it is time to move on and get something a bit more modern. Anyone selling? Cheers.

        • New to the game

          Hi All

I have just placed an order on:
          GTI 5dr dsg
          Sunroof
          Blue tooth
          MDI
I am staying with 17's, I tried to change but the car is going into production this week.

This will be my first VW I somehow convinced the wife, or should I say that the car convinced her on the test drive. I can't wait for the car to arrive!!

I have previously owned a long line of Subaru's including WRX, Liberty GTB.

          • hi!

            Hey!

I've had a silver 1991 mk2 Golf GTI called Gertie for a year and a bit now. I fell in love with her the minute i saw her, and she's lovely to drive, but gives me a hell of a time keeping her running.

I dont think the car was very well maintained by its previous owners, and just about everything's gone wrong... brakes failing, aircon, central locking, seats, and the best one- when an hour from home on the way to work green goo and steam start pissing out the stereo! fun times...

So we have a bit of a love-hate relationship. But something makes me stick with it.

            • GTi

              Hello Gents,

Test drove the GTi DSG at Austral and it is a quick pocket rocket.

Mrs liked the luxury feel of the interior and i liked the paddle shifters so much.

As i describe it to my colleagues, "It's like a lil Ferrari !"

              Cheers

              • Newby to be

                Hi everyone!

I owned a black GTI from 1979 to 1983 and am excited to get into my 2nd Golf now - 30 years later!

I am looking for a 2005-2007 2.0 TDI 103 kW. The first little project will be a chip tuning. Any thoughts are welcome.

                Regards

                    • missing my Golfs

Hi all from Adelaide, joined the forum to trade a bit of advice on my next project. Have previously owned and successfully shown a '76 Mk 1 GLS (62,000 km showing in 2002), a '93 Cabriolet which suicided taking a Volvo off the road, and a 2001 GL. If all goes well I pick up a '96 Cabby in about a week.......been without a Golf for 2 years now.....and it hurts!

                      • Introduction of my Golf VR6

                        Hello,
Just introducing my new car and myself! My new car is a 1998 Golf Mk3 VR6. I bought it about 2 months ago from a guy in NSW. I live in Melbourne and am planning some upgrades in the near future (wheels and suspension to start with).
My first car was a Golk mk1 and I had a Golf Mk4 when I was living in Germany some years ago.
                        Cheers
                        Casey

                        • G'day guys.

My names Luke, living in Melbourne, bout a month ago got myself a '94 golf vr6. Been eying them a while and got the best one kicking around.

Few minor problems with it, but should be easy fixes. Hopefully get it mint by October, which is when I get off my p's.

I'll direct specific questions to the proper forum, cheers everyone.

looking at buying a MK4 GTi so very happy to have found this site, so about me, well live in Brisbane and currently own a Mondeo XR5 and a Focus XR5, the focus just sits there and only gets used on weekends so looking to sell it and buy a MK4 to free up some cash, have lots of questions but will do some searching through old posts and go from there.

                            Cheers

Just layed down a deposit today for my first VW.

118TSI DSG w Sportspac and delivery time of just 3 weeks.

Probably should have shopped around a bit more than I did. Will be interested to see what others think of the deal I got. I noticed a thread that goes into detail on Mk 6 Golf pricing so will post details there for comment.

Have 24 hrs to "cool down" where I can back out if I think I can get a better deal elsewhere.

congratulations on your purchase seems like a good deal as the 118tsi is in big demand. I paid 37.4K for mine just before Christmas but wait will be 6 weeks.

                                Also purchased in sydney.

I plan on installing an after market 7" mobile PC with GPS, DVD, digital TV with built in recorder, Radio and Reversing camera. I also plan to have an ECU Upgrade which give the car a power tune up and better security.

good luck hope you enjoy your car.
