Guys. First post for me I believe. I am planning on catching up with some of you soon on a cruise. Would love to be there this evening, however I leave you with this as a discussion topic....perhaps over a coffee.

Why has the meet time been made so late?

It's always been 8pm since we started doing the coffee meets. Gives people time to get home from work and have dinner, see the family etc first.

You think 8pm is too late?

Feel free to get there earlier for a meal if you like. A number of people have done that on previous coffee nights.

There's a number of us with families/young kids so 8pm allows getting kids sorted first without too many hassles on the home front.

8pm is just a "nominal" time anyway as there's usually just general car chat for a couple of hours - or until we get booted out. At which time the meeting usually convenes to the car park...

I'll try to get there early too (hopefully around 7:15ish) and grab some dinner with you. Can't be 100% sure I'll be able to, but will do my best.

I will have a special interstate guest with me on Wednesday.

Hoping we wont have to do an all-nighter and get there at a reasonable time.

Also something that we can maybe discuss at the coffee night is the upcoming Eurofest event which is on in a couple of weeks time.



It would be good to have a decent showing of VW's at this event (both new and old). I know there's been another announcement for it over here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...-sa-90216.html, however nothing much more has happened.

Just looking at possibly organising a meet point (or two) for people interested in heading to the event and possible drive up to Birdwood together.

The entry fee is per vehicle and a number of the other entrants in the past made a family day of it. Would be good to see a number of VW's up there flying the flag.

I know that our "normal" drive day is only 2 weeks after and this may be "doubling up" a bit, however this may be a better event to bring families along to as you'll have access to the museum and grounds for picnics etc too.
