      • Sounds good for a Stirling meet point on the 29th.

Also just a reminder about the dyno day being run this Saturday (21st) if there is anyone else looking to run their car on the dyno this is an ideal opportunity.

Also for anyone else wanting to catch up more than happy for people to drop down - just tell your wife/girlfriend that you're out doing "Saturday morning shopping". We'll have a bacon/sausages/eggs on a barbie going for those that feel a bit hungry too.

Please see the dyno day thread for details: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ber-88998.html

If you want to run or know anyone with a VW/audi that does please PM me and I'm sure we can fit you in.

        • Yep I will be there, plenty of good options that way.

          • I don't know these roads particularly well (beyond the standard commute routes), so here's a suggestion that may need some tweaking to include a few local favourites (Rhys, Kim, looking at you blokes ):

            Option 1: http://goo.gl/maps/RSKw7

I've suggested a meet at Ruby's Organic Cafe, in the main street of Stirling. I've had coffee and lunch there a couple of times, and rate it.

            • Did you say you wanted to end up at McLaren Vale?
Bull Creek Rd is another great one if we are going out that far, and perhaps from Mt Barker, head up hawthorn rd to echunga rather than flaxley, it will be too busy. PLus hawthorn is a great mini rally.

The main concern about ending up in McLaren Vale is that people still need to get back, so if we make it 120km+ to get there, that may push it over the line for some people, whereas a start and finish near the city is a bit more accessible. Having said that, I'm happy to go further. What do people think?

Here's an alternative route, that takes in the roads you and Rhys mentioned, and ends up in McLaren Vale at Blessed Cheese (a fantastic cafe and lunch spot):

                • Yes, it's a bit of on the longish side, so if I go I will join you somewhere down south.

Well, I can reduce it some? If we ended up near the city, what sort of length would you like? And if we ended up in McLaren Vale, what length?

We can always decide on the day, but given the relative complexity of the route some maps wouldn't be a bad idea, in which case deciding beforehand would definitely help.

                    • Well for me personally it would make my life easier if I was home by lunch time (back in Semaphore by 1pm).
I wouldn't mind starting a little earlier if we went a bit further but need to finish somewhere nearish to town around 12.

Might be tricky to start too much earlier, being a Sunday morning and all. The meet is for 9:30.

Here is a slight modification of the first route (I'll call this Option 3), that includes Hawthorn Rd, but doesn't go as far south as Mt Compass or as far west as McLaren Vale; it should get us back to near the city by close on 12ish:

Option 3 looks good - and I can bail out at Clarendon/Chandlers Hill depending on how time is going.
