Ive updated the original cruise route map at the start of the thread to reflect Floodys suggested route. I think the previous one was a bit too hardcore.

I'm headiung to Thredbo for a week's snowboardinbg in August.

One thing you guys have seriously overlooked.

i'm forecasting its going to be the best winter ever, and you will still need snowchains when you plan to drive up LOL

can I suggest you allow 2 or so hours in Thredbo, maybe catch the chairlift up to the top ($25) and have a coffee stop at Eagles Nest (highest restaurant in australia)

you're suggesting we'll get snow in the middle of summer Gareth?

I know I've had some light snow/ice in november before, but it hadn't heated up yet. Surely we'll be in the prime of summer by 7th ish?" (well close enough)

Probably not a bad idea. We will have plenty of time and it will be nice to break up the trip a little. The only time constraint will be getting back to Jindabyne before Pub o'clock (Im assuming there is a pub somewhere in Jindabyne?!)

I'm only kidding Jarred, but as a snow lover, I can only live in hope that we have a mini ice age and get more snow than now.

However, here's a pic of thredbo taken Christmas Day 2006... you never know!!!
