    All good buddy!
i wasnt sure how the judging system works at this show, i do some judging at other shows in which i attend and i know what its like! Ive been doing it for a few years now! Different shows have different ways of judging.

But thanks either way for the explaination.

    • I have to say that the judging in such an event is tough. Last year I humbly gave it a go and have to say it is tough to differentiate certain aspects between cars, but the judging form is there to assist when breaking the items that are looked for down.

I know that Matt missed out last year with his MK1 and again this year in his Scirocco - does not make them bad cars, just that the way the criteria are interpreted it is going to lead to some red herring winners now and then.

Next year mate, you can always strive for that or head to Melb for SEDF for a different judging crew perspective.

Just to add to this, the criteria was 4 section each out of 25 points. Where I can see that you no doubt could have topped 2 catergories which were paint, body and overall asthetics and Interior overall.

The other two were engine bay and exhaust, suspension and brakes. These two catergories could have hurt you. In saying this, this was the same case with alot of the other cars that were judged people weren't opening there bays or couldn't see the condition of the inside of the car.

Overall your car was well presented and beautiful paint job! The interior was emaculate to say the least!

Pitty I didn't get to meet you I went passed the Shannons section but couldn't see anyone there to talk to.

        • Steve,

          Who where the winners?

clubvw.org.au hasn't got the results listed yet.

Or do they have to publish it first before you post them??

          Cheers,
          Tommy

                Water Boy's VW Nationals report.

                Friday

Woke up to Josh asking me if I had room for some wheels. Whhhhh bro what are you talking about. Tell me later. Throw the rest of my stuff into the Mk3 and off to Jarred's place, he drops me at the station and I head to Uni to sit a maths test. (All went well I sat next to someone smart) train back to Glenferrie to meet the crew. There waiting is Jarred, Josh, Tim and Mitch. My car is full with bags, food, sleeping gear etc. Josh's Polo is full with rear guards sitting on the tyres Mitch has been drinking since 10am and its only 12:30pm Good form son.

So we boot on to the Hume with a stop for food. Not far from Benella, Jarred and I spot Josh pulled over with hazards on and some concerned looks at the front left wheel. So I spose we better pull over. Unload the boot and tyre change is complete. Next stop was Gundagai to fuel my fire breathing beast (Josh makes it to Sydney on one tank) We wanted Subway but the line was huge so KFC it was, we had quite a swell time at the food court keeping our eye on the the scenery.

I take over form Jarred driving and tunes are pumped, and good times had. We had fun teaching a Hyundai not to mix with Mexican's and were welcomed to Sydney by a twat in a XR6. I hate Sydney roads so adding rain, traffic and night into the mix was grand not. Josh lead and we arrived at Mischa's place at 10:30pm to open our first beers (Mitch has nearly consumed a slab) good times that evening talking laughing etc. Jayjay came around and we brrappped the living room. Mitch and I went walk about and can tell you there is no Hungry Jack's in North Shore let alone a shop open at 2am in the morning, props to our new coffee loving mate in his Polo GTI (Mitch and I hope you took our advice and got blue vision globes from Autobahn)

I then fell asleep... BTW my shoulder hurts.

                  Saturday

Nooom noooom nooom Bacon and eggs aswell as Jarred's world famous pancakes with fruit and icecream. A little hung over but spirits high we head for Tempe Tyres, picking up the "Slammed Distributions" SA crew from York st. Stavros and his Mrs came down and we killed some time. All I can say is I didnt in my wild dreams think a place existed like Tempe tyres WOW. But I will not complain that a 205/40/17 fitted $50 was sourced.

Back to Mischa's via Safeway (Woolies) to get some more beers, food and check the local talent. In true "Vortex" style we cranked some tunes, cracked some beers and fitted Josh's TT back onto the Polo.

The rest of the afternoon was spent eating, drinking and being rad. The man from Orange arrived too... Late that evening Josh and I washed our cars.

Some other events happened that night but I dont really remember.

                    Sunday

Get up get up ohhhhhhhhhhh. Look outside and its raining. Gay!

We fart (literally) round for about an hour then Jay Jay rings and says we better get ready as the we need to be there before 10:30am dang. Pick up the SA/SD boys and brrrappp to Fairfeild via Macca's.

Some hardcore 3 wheeling and we were up the Watercooled end (I mean MkV world) Had an awsome time as usual talking, laughing and lots of looking. I am getting a sparco seat too...

                    Few highlights of the show:

Telling the lady at the entry my car was a Volkswagen not a Honda/

                    Mitch getting on it....

Steve felt hungry so he got an ice cream

Was rad to see so many motivated people in attendance and many traveling from interstate. We stayed at the venue till dark with many more laughs.

Heading back from the show we are loving life "Hahahha look at that poor bloke broken down" shat its Jayjay, after some thinking we get out my trusty 7th hand rope and flat tow Jayjay to safety. Dang that was interesting moment.

The Mexican's plus some Sydney crew ended up in Chatswood pub, for a feed, some pool and laughs. I will never forget how bizare Chatswoood 7/11 is...

                    We all feel asleep.

                      Monday

Ahhhhhhh up to check out the MILF's across the road and home via Woolies...

Stopped at Camdem GTI to check out whats going on. Had to refuel the Mk3, what a headache that was.

Onto the Hume and Macca's for lunch, I read up on the local Purr scene whilst cranking more tunes. We saw the Nitro Circus truck and got amped. I took over at Albubry and we moved further south, brraapping through the wet evening.

I made it home at 10:07pm 1970.8km's later.

Few people I have to thank:

                      Jarred copilot
Josh, Mitch and Time for the repping Melbourne.
Mishca and Elle for your awsome care.
And all the other rad snakes for the weekend.

                      Oh really
I see what you did there
Give me back my wife’s cardigan
                      Vrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmm
                      Bapathebooopy

                      Mitch you are a menace…
