Thank you Jarred. My main aim of putting it in was to show my daughter (who I bought it for to learn to drive) that it will not look good purple and it should be kept as it is.

Just saying..
"Top Modified Audi" means the best presented modified audi (well thats they way i look at it!), means its judged on all areas...just because my engine bay wasnt clean (cause its STANDARD!!!) shouldnt write me off altogether.
Ill take the feedback you supplied and i MAY (and thats a big MAY) bring my car back next year if i still have it. The reason i havent touched the engine bay is cause its a standard motor (only with a boost tap & BOV). Ive considering doing some minor detail parts (ie plastics, etc), but we will see
Thanks either way for a good show!

Just saying..
everything on that audi was modifed minus the engine.. while the other audi only did the engine bay with abit of engine work shouldnt of taken top modified audi..Passat 1.8T K04 | Audi A3 1.8T | Bora 4Motion

Have you seen the judging form? do you know the criteria for the judging we did?
no, of course you don't...
So don't make a statement on how the judging should have happened if you don't know the method for how things were judged.
Just because everything bar the engine and exhaust for that matter were modified doesn't mean it should automatically win.
While being a clean car the engine bay wasn't even clean and tidy and was actually rather filthy as was the exhaust.
The car that won was a very tidy car and didn't only have a few engine mods but as I said it's not the mods list that wins fit and finish matters most of all... this is where the A4 lost a heap of points otherwise it probably would have won.Last edited by static1800; 25-05-2010, 01:51 PM.76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed

And BALLR, just cause your engine bay is standard, doesn't mean it can be filthy, it's still part of the overall car.
and Melissa, don't say that! I've seen some very good looking purple mk 1's! ha!But it's probably best left standard!

who knows mate, you might have only lost out on a couple points not "instantly given the trophy to someone else"
p.s. your paint looked pretty mad! don't see that kinda paint job everyday!

Im not a sore loser by any means, im just simply trying to find out as to why i didnt get it, but it seems the judges dont want to give me a proper answer apart from that my engine bay wasnt clean!
Thanks for the comments about my paint, it cost enough, and i wanted something different

That happens at most shows i go to if im close for an award.

Originally posted by static1800 View Postcars are judged under 4 categories that tally up to a final score, you lost points in the engine bay area which would have affected your total score, nothing was instantly given to another car.
Thanks for the feedback, i rest my case!

It's hard to know what cars miss out on a win, two judges mark each car and the scores are added together, the scores are also added up by people in the office, so I didn't personally know who won what until they announced it.76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed
