  • A question regarding volumes - at what level would you consider to be listening at 'normal' volume? Reason I ask is that I'm listening mainly listening at volumes between 3-6, but the unit goes much higher than that? Is there a way to change volume settings as I'm finding that incremental change in volume is quite high between the levels.

Having different volumes fixes that problem, the volume for each individual source is remembered so it will be at the right volume when you switch.

The module connects to the back of the unit, and the USB / iPod cable goes from your phone into the module. See the image below:

edit: just been told you will need the Apple official AV cable (I believe this is the one Audiosources is referring to, looking to clarify atm) to connect to the mirroring module. I've asked for full details to be provided to me tomorrow.

You must have left out the MCU update - remember after the MPU update and rebooting the unit back into radio, insert the SD card again to update the MCU.
I see. Couldn't it also be solved by normalising the volume across the modules, so that 1=1 and 40=40 on all modules? Ideally I'd want the same volume across everything and not have to think about it when switching between them.... Because what happens if you forget that you had bt volume really high and then you get a call? Same dilemma as the ans, just different way of getting it, could scare the crap out of you haha.

Re the mirroring module, ok cool. Will wait for the full details

      • 2 quick questions.

1, I have changed my car setup to 'Skoda' with a picture of the shape of my car, didn't seem to do anything though. But I want to change to the Skoda logo when loading. Or even a custom pic.

2, Is there a way to swap the volume dial with the scroll/station dial? This would make a massive difference in not having to lean the shoulder forward to reach it..... (long-legs-fat-f#&k-syndrome)

Agreed, as I tend to have this happen often, I'd rather it be the same volume on all inputs then sepearate. I can live with them like they are tho

I'm definitely interested I'm the mirrorimg module, just as long as they are working towards control of the phone via the module and not needing any further hardware add-ons/replacements.

Now time to start thinking how I will have the mirrioring link line installed into my car, hmmm...

            • Just flashed the new firmware. Bluetooth audio volume is much quieter now, not a good thing. Had it cranked and was having trouble hearing the call I was on.

Is this before flashing the update? It may be related to the resistor causing the white screen issue.

                      • I can confirm my rear speakers no longer work as well. Also the SD/Nav memory leak issue remains too.

                        • Only after flashing. Have not been able to get rear sound since flashing this morning.

                              • One thing I noticed for the first time after a successful flash (both mcu and mpu) is I noticed a quick whitescreen with coloured lines before the welcome to vw screen.

It didn't freeze, but never saw that on boot up on last firmware.
