You actually connect via USB so you don't need a HDMI cable, but just to clear things up, I mentioned previously that this feature will not be available on first release - the control via the unit part was causing stability issues and they have put this aside for now to work on the main unit.

This may have been answered but didn't see it in the first page specs, features etc. I did find out that the ANS series does NOT have any integration of the bluetooth functions to the MFD/MFI. I really like that feature as it shows incoming calls right in front of you and is easy to move around. Will the new DNS have this? I guess a more general question is what OEM features that are displayed on the MFI and OEM stereo will remain? I know AC controls will show on the stereo screen but what will be included in the MFI?

Alex lee has it right with the pictures. In the future Audiosources will also develop MFD phonebook display rather than just the incoming / outgoing number.

That depends on which screen you have chosen for the MFD. You can toggle between audio, status (where it shows fuel consumption etc) and setup with the MFD steering button like normal. The audio screen is where the ANS / DNS will show information based on what screen you're in on the unit.

So I've got a deposit paid on a 610(7") because my current 8" Chinese garbage is too bright at night (I even tinted the screen!) BUT I'm now thinking I should trust audiosources to actually make a decent product that doesn't need sunnies at night & change to the 810 because I am used to the bigger screen now.
Any thoughts?

The brightness on the unit dims when the headlights are on. Just send me a PM if you want to change your order, as I've said until I place the group buy order everything's still flexible.

I just completed my full payment including the extended warranty. Will the warranty period be extended beyond a year from purchase as the unit is being shipped without all the features being included at launch? I think it's only fair that the warranty period commences when all the features are available/usable.

Hey. I know exactly what mhl does. However you still need hardware inside the stereo to recognize a USB connection for this purpose (like a board with the input and logic). That's what I was referring to. Sorry I realize I wasn't clear

Every time I hop in my car and use my current generic unit, I want to drive my fist through it, rip it out and throw it out the window at 110km/hr down the pacific motorway.

First thing I do when I get the DNS is throw the old one in the bin.

It totally ruins the experience of having a nice car.

So yea, to say i'm keen for the DNS is an understatement :p

Sorry about the delay guys! I've been chasing circles around the manager all weekend, so I have both good and bad news.

Good news is, the software is apparently near bug-free, with completion slated for Wednesday. They also want to tweak the radio module a bit more (tuning the hardware I'm told, not a software update), which will begin tomorrow and should be finished Wednesday / Thursday.

The bad news is I have not received the latest software so far

The manager knows there is a new one for yesterday, but he said it was still with the software testing department, he hasn't personally received it yet. He gave me the contact to get it from but, being a weekend, I haven't received a response from the said person yet... The manager also said he will see if he can get it from the office today though obviously they're not open today and the manager himself can be hard to track down on a Sunday. I'll continue to hassle his phone, but if I get nothing tonight I should at least have it tomorrow night. Even if it's not 100% bug-free yet it should be quite enough to make a demo video with, then by Wednesday / Thursday when they enter production the group buy order would hopefully be ready to go through.

We're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I think
