  • Once again, thanks Sandy for being so open and transparent about the whole process

Based on above information, my rough estimate of time:

Software finished over the weekend, video published, final orders taken and sent to Audiosources on ~Wednesday, manufacturing finished on ~Monday, sent to Sandy, arriving ~Friday, sent out to customers, so we're looking at at the week of the 30th of September for delivery. Best case scenario.

    Conservative estimate: +1.5 weeks.

Maybe my workplace is an exception, but the opposite rings true. The Gen Y employees that we have are by far the most conscientious, efficient and dedicated employees we have. They're the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave in the evening, and use technology to increase their productivity. Most of them even take work home on weekends and respond to emails etc.

The gender stereotype is a load of garbage.

Being Gen Y myself, I really despise statements like this.

Thanks Sandy. I didn't mean they stick out a lot just that they are visible compared to the 8". Seeing that the gps maps need this there will always be an sd card in that slot and you can see it. Kind of takes away from the OEM look in my opinion (I don't use sd card for music)

Audiosources will use MHL, which is much more widespread and stable. As I said, I don't see the point of wireless in this situation when your phone will probably lose half its battery in under an hour unless you plug it in (constant Wi-Fi direct similar to tethering, CPU + GPU processing for the screen, GPS + internet if you're on Google Maps, etc). Plus you still need to use the phone for controls so it needs to be docked anyway, not just in your pocket. And if you dock and plug the phone in, then why bother with wireless at all when wired would be more reliable?
None of these mirroring interface technologies support touch control through the unit? I see what you mean about plug versus non-plug but I also don't really see the point of having your 5-inch phone docked right next to your 6, 7 or 8 inch unit displaying the same picture. Ideally I'd have my phone plugged in and out of site and using the unit to directly control the phone image and remove the clutter of a dock/mount. Guess that's not viable yet though.

And that is what the DNS will provide. Hide the phone somewhere connect via HDMI mhl and you will have both video and touch on the screen.

                • This may have been answered but didn't see it in the first page specs, features etc. I did find out that the ANS series does NOT have any integration of the bluetooth functions to the MFD/MFI. I really like that feature as it shows incoming calls right in front of you and is easy to move around. Will the new DNS have this? I guess a more general question is what OEM features that are displayed on the MFI and OEM stereo will remain? I know AC controls will show on the stereo screen but what will be included in the MFI?

                    • Well lets hope I have it by oct 25th. That's my birthday. Ha ha
If the firmware is not ready by this weekend. To make it fun we should start a lottery for the people who paid a deposit or paid in full..
We should try to guess the date it is finally ready, and the person closes to the date maybe can get $20-$50 off of the price?
of course this is up to sandy...
Just a idea to make it fun and make time pass

                      • So I've got a deposit paid on a 610(7") because my current 8" Chinese garbage is too bright at night (I even tinted the screen!) BUT I'm now thinking I should trust audiosources to actually make a decent product that doesn't need sunnies at night & change to the 810 because I am used to the bigger screen now.
                        Any thoughts?

Sandy. Are you able to answer any of these questions now or wait for new firmware. Just trying to understand what I will not have vs have. Thanks

In Primo with a skin you can set the night filter under the Map settings.
