I haven't said a word about any of the delays - that's understandable. Sandy is completely at the mercy of someone else that's far less responsive. But with regards to mirroring, specifically, it went from a feature within the unit, to a work in progress, to not shipping with the initial software to becoming an entirely separate external module at, perhaps, an additional cost to us. Then again, we're all rolling with the punches just like Sandy is.

Hey Sandy, do you happen to know if it's possible (even doing it on our own by editing jpg/bmp files somewhere) to change the way the icons appear on the screen? I was just comparing to my stock unit and realised the reason it looked a bit different is because the icons are black instead of silver with a gradient. I'm guessing the black looks pretty decent in the car but I'm all for customizing things where possible so being able to change icons would be pretty sweet for me

I agree. The Android Mirroring was a function i was most looking forward too. I would also appreciate having steering wheel controls work out of the box. I've waited and paid for this unit because I was understanding that it would work in my GTI without needing extra accessories and connections. I'm ok with the extra modules, but I won't be as happy if they require another delay or wait.

Steering wheel controls work with can bus software and work "out of the box". The android mirroring is the only thing that may need external module and may cost extra. Just clearing this up. Sandy you agree?

Regardless of that I am too a bit disappointed in the expectations and overall specifications and features that were set at the beginning. I am also one that will need to obtain iGo primo North America maps legally and at a cost since android mirroring won't work right away or probably for a very long time (given history). Also this "feature" of android mirroring is honestly the only feature that puts this unit ahead enough on the competition to make those interested in this. Yes the OEM like interface, speed of the system, etc are awesome but easily copied. Having that IN ADDITION to android mirroring makes this "system" rise above.

Yes I agree I too...I would have to purchase north american maps as well .. the difference between the ans and dns is only the speed then? If there is no mirroring? Sandy can you try to insist on the module to be included with the dns purchase? Even if it is at a later date..

There is no nav out the box? My ans nav broke that's the reason I'm getting this lol...... It won't update or anything. Card slot broke. Only had it for a few mknths

Just to clarify, the CAN-Bus decoder is built-in like swyner said so all steering wheel controls etc work out of the box. Where you may (but also may not) need an external module is if they crack the MFD phonebook function.

You can't buy iGo for WinCE individually, only Sygic as I've linked to in the first post. However, iGo with maps all around the world are floating out there available for download in many forums, if any of you outside Australia needs some guidance just PM or email me.

The DNS did turn out more similar to ANS than I originally expected in the software, since the delays meant they are going to push several features as future updates instead. But other than speed, there are still many improvements like much better radio signal, updated SD / USB music functions (though not quite the full library browse-able by artist / album etc that will come as an update), updated video capabilities, revised software menu to look more OEM, memory function in BT (will have to show that in the next video) etc.

I'm as disappointed as many of you that some features didn't make it through the initial release but at this stage after this much delay, they need to fix the bugs and release the unit, not wait till they get every new feature in order - many will not be able to wait for that long.

The mirroring module may turn out to be cheap enough for me to absorb the cost, but if not I would push Audiosources to provide a batch to this group buy at least at cost price, since it was their promise and should be their responsibility.

As for other external modules, there are still the OBD2 and trip recorder ones to come, but they were always going to be external modules. Other than the mirroring function, as far as I am aware there are no promised software features that will now need a module to operate.

Thanks Sandy for the clarification. Could you demo the iPod integration on the next video? I'm particularly interested in the scrolling/searching functionality since that is pointless/unavailable on my oem unit.

So far for the next video could we see:
1) iPod functionality
2) BT phone and music streaming functionality both on the unit and MFI
3) filmed in the day light this time so we can see the unit vs the night time video you took (which was great to see the red button colours)

If any north American folk needs maps, lmk via pm. I just found 2012 north American maps online that I can send the link to obtain, it's 2gigs in size fyi.... love the igo software and how easy it is to update the maps, just drag and drop the maps folder to the content folder and done.

Aux in does exist, but I think I mentioned before the unit has its own RCA aux-in connection from the back. There's 1 aux video and 1 aux L + R audio in.

Thanks, yes you already mentioned that before. I only asked because I couldn't see any option for choosing AUX on the video.
