Group Buy / EOI new generation DNS head units (RNS-510 alternative)
DkN, couple of quick questions please:
1- my Skoda has an aux in in the armrest, which connects to the VW connector on stock radio. Will this also connect straight up on the DNS units or do I need to run a couple of wires into an aux in, like I do currently on my chinese one?
2 - I used to have the RCD510 (not RNS510) which did not have nav. You state that there is full MFD integration, currently I only get "Nav" on MFD when in that mode whereas I have seen the real RNS510 display compass headings and turns on the MFD. DO you know if the DNS units will do this and if so, will I require a Vagcom mod to do it?
Thanks

The DNS has its own aux-in port and you would need to connect the factory aux-in into this port.
There is also currently no navigation on MFD, this requires collaboration from the GPS software vendor, which Audiosources is working on atm.

Is the iPod connection in the back of the unit or front? As I'd like to run it into the centre console where the original MDI is because I have an iPod sit there.
Does the Bluetooth show up on MFD with phonebook etc?

Connections are at the back, this is intentional to avoid the clatter of USB / iPod cables sticking out of the face of the unit. You can of course route them, many use the glovebox but you may need extension cables to reach the centre console.
Bluetooth phone calls do show up on MFD but the phonebook doesn't at this stage. I'm told they are developing this as we speak.
My mk5 Golf has it's radio antenna in the rear windscreen, will this antenna be used to pick up HDTV? (with the HD TV tuner)
Or is there a separate antenna needed?
Two separate antennas are in fact provided for extra signal strength for the HD DVB-T tuner. Most mount these on the dash or behind the rear view mirror.
Hey, just a quick question about when the unit would be landed and shipped?!? I have read through the thread and can't seem to find a date on it, you say the orders need to be in by the 17th, thats cool, but when would we receive the unit??

Hi, i have one question, have they improved the SD/USB player to not to repeat the first song of the folder after the last one have been played? I mean, with my previous Kenwood, once you have played the last song of a folder it would automatically go to the next folder, is it like that now??
PS: I have PMed you so i can have the payment details. Thanks!!
PS2: Is the trunk handle camera compatible with a Jetta Mk5? Do you have its meassures?
