Just brought my first Vw and my sat nav is way out of date.i have insomnia so read into all the map and firmware updates. Need some guidance in the right steps to follow as I don't want to brick my unit.

I've done my maps updates for the year, all good, but does anyone have any instructions/downloads for confirmed genuine firmware updates for MIB1 (5G0035846A)? Or know any Australian based service providers, other than dealers, that will sell genuine firmware upgrades? Or any providers at all?

Hi All, I’ve recently bought an MY19 R-Line. Really enjoying it so far, but already thinking about a tune and some other coding updates thanks to the wealth of information on this forum.

I have read posts in the Passat section about this and this site was suggested -Volkswagen Map & Softwareupdates I checked it out but for the Tiguan it only had for 2015 onwards. As my car is a 2011 does this mean I can't get map updates for the RNS510? I have 2015 at present. What are my options?...

I have read the other forums about the map updates and have been directed to VW Germany, but there doesnt seem to be a link to the Touareg.
I have been to the dealer and was quoted $550 for the map update, which is ridiculous.
Does anyone have any better news, web links, or aftermarket businesses...
