Looks like VW Oz are getting concerned about losing sales due to competing brands having longer warranty coverage. Obviously a bit of a toe in the water exercise seeing as it ends Dec 2018. I guess if it doesn't translate into increased sales then they may revert back to 3 years.

Hi Guys, I have been a Golf owner since 1978 with my first car being a mk 1 GLD. The car served me well for 20 years until a brake line corroded through in the cab so I retired it. The diesel engine had been rebuilt and had about 50,000km on the clock by then. My son collected a couple of cabriolets....
