Looks like VW Oz are getting concerned about losing sales due to competing brands having longer warranty coverage. Obviously a bit of a toe in the water exercise seeing as it ends Dec 2018. I guess if it doesn't translate into increased sales then they may revert back to 3 years.

Of course they need to have cars they can actually deliver before anyone can get the benefit of this extended warranty - I assume the new WLTP requirements are still holding up all new VWs built in Europe ( I know the POMS have been whinging extensively about the delays in build and delivery on new Golf Rs).
