Hi Guys, I have been a Golf owner since 1978 with my first car being a mk 1 GLD. The car served me well for 20 years until a brake line corroded through in the cab so I retired it. The diesel engine had been rebuilt and had about 50,000km on the clock by then. My son collected a couple of cabriolets. He sold one and I have a red one left in the shed along with the old diesel golf. I am at a point where I don't have enough years left to put the cabriolet together. It would make a really nice car as the body and panels are good condition even though it has been in a carport for the last 10 years. I have been advertising it on gumtree hoping someone would buy it as I don't want to see it go the car breakers. I have had a bit of interest from tyre kickers but little else. I thought I would post it in the sales section of this forum just in case there was someone here who would like a cabriolet project. I also have a pile of 2nd hand parts I have collected over the years. I would like to sell all as a complete lot. Check the sales section for the add if interested. Please pm me if interested. It is a red 1982 model I believe.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,
