Having finally sorted out the stuck disc problem, pics to show how to fix with minimal pain. There is no way to do this other than remove and disassemble the DVD mechanism. Could be a 10 minute job!

It appears that after loading firmware, the unit requires Maps DVD next and no other disc...

Today I replaced front and rear rotors and pads on a mates 2011 T5 , imagine my surprise when I found another of VW,s cost cutting measures they no longer have the pad wear sensors fitted . The new pads came with the sensors but nowhere to plug them in I thought that it was a standard safety warning...

I purchased a v8 update disc from Navigation au but when I insert it in my RNS510 C (LED) it ejects the disc and throws a cd/dvd check disc error, I'm using F,ware 5238.
The unit accepts both f ware and map updates uploaded from this site. Any help appreciated. Cheers Garry
