    Auto Service @ 65k

As the Crafter is still under warranty until late 2026, I have been reluctant to replace the Auto Oil and Filter, in case of a warranty issue. I've also been towing a trailer on most of my voyages, which adds to the Auto Trans service dilema.. !

As It looks like I will keep this...

    Touareg CASA EGR thermostat

After noticing fluctuations in water and oil temps, from normal to cooler, decided to let my fingers do the walking.
It appears that the EGR thermostat on CASA engine ( not on earlier v6, eg. BKS ) could well be the culprit.
Hypothetically speaking, does anyone know if the EGR cooler is...

Hi all, looking to purchase a T5 1 transporter and joined to ask some advice on the risks of a CFCA engine with a Rev C egr cooler. Done plenty of reading about the issue, but a suitable 2015 4motion has popped up. It has 117km on it, but the owner nor their mechanic can advise if the is any oil usage...

Amarok V6 - Ambient temp readings

    Hello All,

A week or so ago , I went through a very deep puddle , the water level came slightly over my bonnet.

A few days later I noticed that the ambient temp reading was out of range (some 10-15 degrees higher at times) when in traffic. The temp then dropped...

    Mechanic Recommendation - Melbourne

2009 Passat CC 2.0 TDI (CBBB engine)

Recently changed the oil and filters myself (have done many times and on the other family vehicles as well) on my diesel Passat CC.

I have an engine oil leak (definitely not diesel) - not a weep, a decent leak (c. 50-100mL per km); occurs...

Mk7 gti with oil in coolant

Guys our MK7 GTI done 100kms has signs of oil in the coolant expansion tank.

Is this most likely to be the oil cooler unit?

I was planning on flushing the system but no point going too far if the oil keeps coming through.
Car is due thermostat and waterpump replacement...

    EGR cooler leak

Hi. I have a 2013 Amarok. Lately I have used 1 litre of coolant in 3000 kms over a month, and as I cant see any visible leaks, I suspect leaky EGR cooler. I want to blank it off and remap the ECU. I live near Mackay and am looking for recommendations of a VW mechanic near there or Brisbane. Cheers.

    Oil in cooling system

So I’ve got oil in the coolant. (07 Passat 3.2 vr6). Is there anything common that fails? It smells a bit like dsg fluid but hard to tell. I took the dsg filter cover off and there isn’t any evidence of water in the trans. Also no evidence of water in the engine.
    I guess the options are...

I've searched everywhere & cant find one.
I have the front off vehicle & im down to removing the oil filter housing which hosts the oil cooler. I cant see a way to take the oil cooler off without the filter as there are bolts inside under a manifold.
