147kW/280Nm to 155kW/280Nm and a claim of no performance increase? What is the point of buying this if you have a Golf V GTI? Its the same car with 8kW more power and no extra torque.

          Nope. Does nothing for me.

Maybe I'll think differently when I see one on the road.

But if the MkIV > MkV, is the MkVI going to be any better?

Either way I think it's a much better looking beast than the MkV

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Hmm looks wise, the exterior looks much more aggressive than the MkV due to the angry eyes lights. Rear end looks like a Touareg with pipes that are too small (I think it's due to the size perception being hard to judge because of the photos).
Interior looks quite nice. I love the steering wheel but it almost looks like it impedes on the instrument cluster slightly. Hopefully it's also fatter than the MkV wheel (I love my chunky MkIV R wheel). I still hate the interlagos trim. I've said it beofore and I'll say it again; Seriously Tartan, WTF!
Also I could probably go without the chrome edging of the air vents.
Overall though I think they've done quite well with a much more aggressive extrerior and probably a bit more classier interior than the outgoing MkV.

This is only the "base" GTI ...... GTI-R to follow with 200kw and 350NM and 4Motion as a replacement for the R32.....

I think I'll go place my order now to avoid the waiting list.

More to the point I knew the w12 would have some influences in the mk6 and its evident!!!

I think I'll hold judgement until it is officially released!

Until then, I'm making no immediate plans to replace my MkV. Why replace something I still enjoy looking at?

I did a bit of a nose to nose comparison of the MKV and MKVI .

The VI has a longer front overhang, and a slightly flatter bonnet line, making it look more like an Audi. Don't know if the extra front overhang is to move the engine further forward, or to allow more room for better intercooler.

Be interested if others can see this too, or whther it's jut my eyes deceiving me.
