Yay, this looks real nice. Not too sure about the perspective of it from certain angles, but I'm sure in due time it will be good I love that steering wheel.... !

mmmm, yep i'm loving the look of it inside and out.
I especially like the re-introduction of the straight grille with the red border. It's a classic GTI 'must' and i'm glad it's back.
Be interesting to see how it drives...
I know it's old school retro and a homage to the oldies and at the risk of being berated as a "blasphemer" I really wish they'd get rid of that damn plaid fabric! Or at least offer another fabric option apart from the bizzillion $$ leather option anyways.
2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
GUYS dont buy the MK6 ... it takes 25 hours to make versus 35 for the golf mk5.
DO YOU THINK THAT MAKES IT MORE QUALITY, OR LESS QUALITY! !!!!
IT will have tonnes of cheap construction methods to save 10 hours.... its gonna have build quality of an old subaru!
I think it was more about streamlining the process and making it more efficient than reducing quality. Knowing VW, quality would be a priority for the MkVI.

Not always. As long as the quality of the materials itself are not reduced, taking a shorter amount of time is more of an indication that it is better designed and less likely to incur problems IMO. I hope this is a step up as quality/reliability on VWs have dropped a fair bit in recent years.
This looks awesome, if things go as planned this (or a GTI-R) will be my next car!

To me the sculpted side and tail light shape makes it look more like a Mazda 3 than the V, which I really like (except for the A pillar-front quarter detail).

Toyota can make a Yaris in 9 hours, doesn't mean you won't see the bloody things on the road for the next 25 years!
Build time is no indication of quality, consider Toyota who has a series of 1.3km production which are pretty much all automated save a few parts. I believe VW redesigned their processes in manufacturing as much as they have redesigned their new golf to reduce their production times.
Could be worse, could be Kia Rios on the road in 25 years time! (Haha... won't happen of course).
Anyways, you guys should take into consideration that with reduced production times for the MKVI, and hence reduced costs, the best thing here is the price will be about the same (or even cheaper, maybe?) than the MKV. Adaptive suspension will get my tick... ghee I hope they make it standard, along with bi-xenons at the same prices as the standard MKV's. Also, I hope they do entry level MKVI's around the early 20K mark, hopefully take away sales from those craptins they call Corollas. Another thing too, there is talk of a TuRD Corolla, so hopefully VW do some careful planning to be up against the TuRD with both the GTI and GTI-R. Of course the GTI will be a superior motor vehicle!

I saw a Camira today Both Rio and the Toyto thingy are probably better built......
I don't think VW will try to exceed Toyota's sales by competing the Golf against the Corolla on price. VW's model is working, sales are growing nicely and in a sustainable fashion, so I don't reckon we'll see a Golf VI at Polo/Corolla prices any time soon.
