Volkswagen under investigation over illegal software that masks pollution
97% of all CO2 occurs naturally Man is responsible for only 3%
Of that 3% Australia is responsible for just 1.5% =0002%of the CO2 in the Atmosphere
Yet the Polar bears are now in greater numbers , Crops are growing better as CO2 is actually a plant food
The Seas have not risen as predictad way back in 1979 by the Nixon Government who warned the New york would be 3 metres under water by the year 2000
the only one made rich from Global warming is Al Gore
This.

Yep, and if my memory serves me correctly Euro 4 is pre-2005, so they are modern vehicles that have pretty much come to end of service life anyway (says me who owns two 20-year old VWs).
From the article, the first half of this case in court today for is about the point of law. The second half will be about the software defeat device and whether the fix affects performance.
Might explain the cold call I received from VW Australia today regarding my (now sold) MY11 Amarok. Questioning whether I've had it serviced recently or if I would like to have the recall campaign applied to my vehicle.
In All the coverage I saw of this the other day everyone interviewed as a disgruntled owner didn’t own VW but they were Audi owners.... was Audi even part of it here?

I don’t fully understand what the class action is for. My Passat was part of the recall, took a few hours of my time to drop it off 6 months ago. Haven’t noticed any difference since.

Like all class actions with ambulance chaser firms - to boost billings.

You know, I sort of have to agree with this.
In Australia I seems to me like a bit of an excuse for people to be offended when realistically, none of them were any the wiser before the story broke.
Yep - I didn't see the need to join the class action as my Yeti was within 0.1 of the claimed economy over the time I owned it and I can't say I lost anything on resale value when I sold it and I wasn't deceived - it still met Oz emissions regs. I got a little better resale than the figure I was aiming at when I bought it in 2012. On the other hand, my sister joined the class action over her caddy...not because of any problems, losses or that she'd been deceived but, hey, it's free money if VW lose!
I can't blame someone for ticking a box on a piece of paper for free money.. but yes you guys are spot on.
Unfortunately it's where Australian society has gone: get offended by everything, apologise for everything and most of all make sure everyone gets their cut of the hand-outs.
The offended will keep us posted, I was expecting a play-by-play of the hearings.
