Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I would imagine that the Courts might decide to combine the cases if they thought them similar enough, unless the seperate law firms argue that they are different for some reason. If that argument is accepted, then the seperate cases must be considered entirely on their merits, which is very much dependent on the level of evidence presented and the calibre of prosecuting and defending lawyers - so I would think different outcomes quite possible.

    • I have no doubts that there are lawyers who chase every dollar. But just a warning to their customers, make sure that the only money they get isn't yours. In other word you go home with nothing.

Well, sort of... it's admitted alleged non-compliance... [emoji15]

"It's alleged you did some bad stuff."
          "Yeah, we did it."

A confession of guilt kinda does for the argument.

I was more pointing out the fact that it's in the US.

The newly raised questions and notices of violation yesterday yes, if that's what you mean.

I may allegedly agree with you.

                • A reminder to everyone when it comes to legal advice (and any advice in general) provided by anyone on this forum:

It may be stating the obvious, but remember that you are dealing with (in many cases) nameless, faceless strangers who may or may not be more informed that you are, have different circumstances, different motives and different values. Personal opinions are just that, they may help with your own train of thought, but any legal/financial decisions should be approached with a great deal of caution. Read the fine print, understand the risks of what you are choosing to do and if in any doubt consult with a professional.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

                    • Hyundai had the same thing, but didn't see a peep of it mentioned here, I think in the US a class action took them to town over unrealistic MPGs.

Yeh, It surprises me they found other manufactures couldn't meet the standards either. The others haven't taken their vehicles off the market and no body is blinking an eye. VW are doing their best to do the right thing and the media are still smashing them.

Vw didn't remove their vehicles from the market out of the goodness of their heart. They were forced to.

                            • Theres no such thing as bad publicity?

Perhaps US buyers are happier to buy a VW over another make where the airbag may deploy at any time?

                              Who knows
