Cash for clunkers schemes usually are only good for lining the pockets of korean car manufacturers. More pissing money up against a wall in my opinion.

The whole scheme is rubish, save the environment my ass.
Driving an old car is alot more environmentally friendly then driving a new car. Sure some old cars will use more petrol and have more emissions but think about what it takes to build a new car. You can drive a VN 5L for 10years and in that time it still wont be as harmfull to the environment as building a prius is.MK1 GLS 3door

This is from memory of about 20 years ago when working in Malaysia.
Singapore required a bond on all new car purchases.
This bond is returned when car destroyed (Or dismantled?) before set time period.
I think not allowed to be resold over border? eg, required certificate to say destroyed.
