Too good to pass that deal up! I only replaced my wipers a few months ago so this pair will be stored away for .....dare I say it..... a rainy day!

Is this brand any good compared to the original VW Wiper Blades or Bosch Wiper Blades?

As this sale has finished, are there any other places that have good Wiper Blades on special?

How often should you change your wiper blades?

In my personal experience, neither the Wipertech nor Uniwiper blades perform as well nor last as long as the Bosch units, both on my Passat and my wife's car (with both cars being parked outside for most of the day/night). However, it seems that experiences and opinions vary wildly.

Last time I bought a full set of Bosch (2 x fronts plus rear) from Automotive Superstore they were about $82 delivered

Just remember that "VW original" wiper blades will be made by someone like Bosch or another OEM brand. VW do not make their own wiper blades.

As for how often you should change them - this varies as it depends on many factors such as how much you drive in the rain, how much you clean your windscreen using your wipers, and how much your car is outside in the weather. But around every 2-3 years would be the timeframe I use mine before I replace them. Driving in heavy rain with poorly performing wipers is not a fun experience, so I replace mine well before they get to this stage.

I have used Bosch and Valeo and Wipertech. They all lasted about the same amount of time before I noticed they were not wiping as well as they once did. I have been buying the Wipertech for 4-5 years now and am happy with them. They regularly do sales with $10-15 off (there is a sale on now - I got an email yesterday, use code XMAS100OFF and its for $10 off and free shipping) so I just buy a set when they are on sale.

                Hi Lucas,

I just tried that code 'XMAS100OFF' but got the error "Your coupon code is invalid. Enter a valid code."

Are you sure that is the code?

Thats exactly what is says in their email. Perhaps its a typo and it should be XMAS10OFF instead.

                    Smart cookie, that worked!

                    Thanks Lucas

Question is, do I order the Wipertech or the Bosch?

Atm Bosch ($74.99) are cheaper (@ automotivesuperstore) than the Wipertech ($79 with discount coupon, $89 without discount coupon)

I have just received the wipertech set to replace Bosch. Haven't had to try them out in the rain yet so can't comment on that side.
What I have noticed is that the wipertech ones are more in line with the OEM set, the Bosch ones were a bit "chunky" on the connection to the wiper arms.
Wipertech were very customer focus on their ordering process, heaps of email updated for tracking and a personal email thanking for my purchase. I really appreciate customer service. Blades came packaged very professionally.
Wipertech were priced cheaper than Bosch, this is not so much an issue for me as I will pay for the better quality units over the others.
Bosch were a real pain trying to find sizes, there were no "pairs" available anywhere and I had to buy the left and right sides separately by searching 4 different auto part stores.

My T-Roc has a ceramic coat on the windscreen, the original VW ones were ok on a few single wipes but would start to skip in heavy rain. They were still affective in clearing the water away but annoying with the skipping sound.
Replaced the OEM ones after 12 months with Bosch. Initially the Bosch were good but started the skipping also after a couple of months.
Now trying Wipertech to see if they are any better.
I keep both the glass and rubber clean all the time and apply a rubber conditioner to the blades, so wear or deterioration is not really the problem.
Strange as the other vehicle (Audi) has the same windscreen treatment and it's OEM wipers work great. If wipertech turn out just like the others then I may place some Audi OEM ones on and see.

Went to Costco and they sell the 'Michelin Hydroedge Wiperblade' for $15.99 each (fronts only, no rears)
                          (Michelin Lifestyle)

Called VW Spare Parts. They quoted Front Set $80 and Rear $25

Hi mate, did you ever noticed if your Wipertech blades were the same size as the original?

I just got my Wipertech blades for my Tiguan and the largest front wiper is an inch longer, the shorter front wiper is same size and the rear wiper is an inch shorter than OEM.

Never noticed that - sorry. I have Wipertech's on both my cars currently (as well as several previous cars) and never had any issues with them.

As long as the wipers dont contact each other and dont hit protrude past the windscreen glass then I dont see the issue.
