Small update - but important to me as i absolutely hated the stock floor mats. Had these custom made for me - im very happy with how they turned out.

Purchased from Matcraft if anyone is interested. Cost was $132 + $10 delivery. Mats are very good quality, i got a heel pad for the drivers mat, silver/grey outer border and of course the R logo.

I find it interesting how your OEM mats didn't have any logo or drivers protective rubber compared to my stock Golf mats (esp considering the price for them)

      At least they fit well

Yeh i know - doesn't make sense. Mind you the price for the mats is included in the cost for the car (come as "standard") so its not like i paid for them. But, in my opinion, these mats should come standard in the R's and probably the GTI's too. And other models should have TSI / TDI etc etc.

Even our $20k Mazda 3 has "Mazda 3" embroidered into the mats - although they were a $100 optional extra.

Ordered a couple of things over the past few weeks so thought id update all at once.

          Autotech HPFP kit:

          Intercooler:

I requested the optional black silicone pipes so hopefully that's what they will send me.

          H&R 20mm lowering springs:

          Ticked over 10,000km last week....boo

Also got some new seat handle inserts that i found on ebay. Certainly wasn't expecting them to be a genuine VW item, but the packing they came in suggests that they are. Bonus!! i have also got a few other little cosmetic items coming from Bold Sport.

Also ordering my grey on black numberplates next week which should compliment the car nicely i think.

Cheers guys - my aim is to keep it a sleeper but being as tidy as possible to not attract attention.

                Last week i installed:

                - H and R lowered springs (20mm drop)
                - Autotech HPFP internals
                - RS4 fuel rail valve
                - THS style intercooler
                - DNA Tuning stage III tune

Installed everything myself over the course of a few evenings last week. Car goes like a little rocket now.

                New Intercooler Kit:

Some pictures from the install – showing the fitment etc:

Any photos of decreased height? I reckon it would be sitting about perfect now.

The ride height has dropped 15mm already and will no doubt drop a few more mm over another few weeks. It doesnt really look "lowered" like some JDM thing, but has reduced the wheel gap nicely.

Will load up some pics in a few days once they have settled a bit.

Once ive done some logging on the revised tune, and make sure everything is running as it should, ill do some more acceleration vids Ryan. Will also be getting it dyno'd soon to see how its improved from my previous result of 204kw/354nm that i got earlier this year.

Ive been eyeing that intercooler kit for a while. Be interested to see the logs. Alot of haters out there but none have ever owned one so go figure!

Looks good mate, looking forward to the results.

I enjoy it actually. I've always done my own maintenance and modifications to my cars (within reason of course as im not a professional). I only take it to a workshop if there is something i cant do myself.

Go for it. The intercooler is a winner and its a bargain too. Its a direct replica of the THS cooler (probably made in the same factory anyway). I'll do some temp logs over the next week or two.

Is the Golf R intercooler the same as the Audi S3 one? Probably a few GTI or 118TSI owners out there who would like to upgrade.
