  • torque setting

    Hi guys.
I am about to fit a new DMF and clutch on my t5 2.5 tdi 2005 model.
Does anyone knows what is torque setting for the flywheel and pressure plate bolts.

someone told me it is 22nm + quarter and 18nm + quarter for pressure plate. Is this enough tension for this important part???
    Thanks

    It doesn't sound right.

On a Golf the flywheel to driveplate torque is 60Nm + 1/4 turn (single use stretch bolts).

I don't think the pressure plate to flywheel bolt is a stretch bolt. On a GTI M6=13Nm & M7=20Nm

    /searches - appears to be:
60Nm + 1/4 turn using new stretch bolts for the flywheel.
    22Nm for the pressure plate

Just a quick one what did the new DMF cost and then the clutch , sometime soon I will need to do mine . I suppose after 290000 kays it should be done after all reversing has become a real act of clutch feathering and slipping to get a smooth reverse movement . I did replace the clutch assembly at 180000 but did not know about DMF at the time even though it was shuddering in reverse I just thought it was like the good old ones where the springs were around the clutch plate itself and not buried inside the flywheel .

            for an 05 T5 0A5 6spd manual
22Nm for pressure plate bolts, tighten diagonally in steps
60Nm for flywheel, plus 1/4 turn
