This is the actual light and the company on the Gold Coast who I got it from .The fitting was a bit fiddly as I had to remove the whole front grill and lower bumper once removed it bolted straight onto the heavy steel support bar . Cutting out the part of the plastic grill was done a small bit at a time to make sure it fitted neatly . wiring was a breeze just ran the main power wire up to the battery and then fitted a heavy duty relay and soldered on to the high beam wire for a trigger , The wire trigger wire is routed through a simple switch to allow me to leave it off around town its just too bloody bright ! 12V 24V 144W 22 Inch Cree LED Work BAR Dual Beam Spot Flood Light 4x4 Offroad | eBay

Removed the bonnet holding rod and replaced it with the strut.

...and cheap mod as well. I have used a used bonnet strut from 1994 Wide body Camry, that I found in my shed. You can buy a new strut for around $30 with the 2 little ball joints (one only needed) that you screw in threaded hole that is already there, the thread is the same M8x1.25.Originally posted by Sunny43.5 View PostBloody good idea !!Last edited by Transporter; 03-11-2013, 07:29 AM.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

I was cleaning my shed and was about to throw that strut into the bin and the size of it reminded me that long time ago I looked at the option to replace that bonnet rod and the length was just perfect.Originally posted by SnowMotion View PostIs this a sign you are spending too much time having to fix your van?
I looked at these but decided I want to spend little time under the bonnet.
The last time I had to fix my van was 2-3 years ago, when the w/pump leaked.
The van is going so well now, that I want to keep it for another 10 years.
So, you may see a few mods to it.

Haha, you're right. You never know, when the most reliable vehicle could go so bad that you wish you never bought it.

All in the last 10 days (decided to keep the T4 Velle instead of upgrading to T5 multivan)
-Audi Q5 17" alloys with new tyres fitted
-twin 9" DVD headrest system hard wired in.
-12v outlet fitted into the bottom of the auto gearstick casing, discrete and practical
-12l waeco fridge installed next to hand brake, mainly because it has cup holders
-timing belt, pump and pulleys changed at volks home. Great job, it sounds and drives 300% better
-ATF, Filter and gasket changed. No more shudder at cruising speeds.
-first layer of stone chip/scratch touch ups applied
-ordered FK street shocks and prints, should be arriving next week (I'll be looking for a fitter soon)
