TeeFiveDude, those wheels look really nice. Can you tell me what GVM your plate says in your van? Mine is 3000Kg and also what tyre load rating it recomends? Mine only states for 16" wheels at 106T and nothing for 17" wheels etc...
Cheers
Alex
The GVM plate says 3000kg and asks for 102 rated tyres at 16' or 17'. I paid $1300incGST fitted and balanced for the Kumho Ecsta RU31's - they have a quality look that matches the wheels - roll and grip nicely. Highly recommended and easily available - Kumho Tyres Australia Pty Ltd | Passenger Tyres
Damnit! The chap at Bob Jane said he wouldn't fit 103's on my van as it was illegal as the tyre sticker (inside the drivers door) stated it needed 106's. Oddly in his guide book it stated that VW T5 2006 onwards only need 102's?
So it appears I need to change the tyre sticker. Has anyone else had this done?
I'm having the plate changed to 4 seats (from 2 seats) can the same guy change the tyre sticker?
This all seams a bit silly as the GVM is only 3000 so doesn't need to be anywhere near 950Kg (106's). So is definitely not a safety issue, just a paperwork issue!
Or else I may need to go in with the wheels and get them fitted and pretend they are for a 2006 T5. and put the wheels on myself!!!

It's a sticker, so you should be able to order a new one from VW spares. Just make sure it has the correct info on it.
They will probably want a VIN # so maybe one of the folk here with the "correct" sticker could PM you their VIN to quote to the spares people?

Sorry, I had been meaning to post this.... i did exactly as you just suggested using my own VIN on the off chance that it might give an updated tyre placard.... and it did! so all sorted now, I'll post some pics this week hopefully....
My tyre placard doesn't even list 17" as an option. I guess it must be ok, as they come with 17" rims from factory don't they? No matter, got some sexy csa sniper rims today in 18" looks great, was a bit worried about the ride, but I don't notice the difference from the stock tyres. Thats with coilovers fitted, which DID make the ride a lot harder.
