    Isn't the internet great!
Re the tyres Rob. I got the best price from an Aussie company called Bob Jane T Marts. They are one of the major national dealers for tyres and wheels.
Just don't let them jack your van up by the tow bar if you have one. They bent my bumper so that it now contacts the tail gate and rubs.
    That's pissed me off.
Best wishes for a good trip to Oz mate. If there's any info you need from this end, scream out.

    Ken.

          Hi GUV,

Not sure who the distributor for MAK is but I did get a price on these in 20x 9” from http://www.magwheelcentre.com.au/

They were about $1,000 per wheel – not including tyres!!!

            Thanks BLog

            I don't think I'll be getting the 20s then.

Here are the pic's of a friends' bus with BMW X5 rims, which are 19". They look sweeter than standard X5 rims as they have been painted.
Tyres are Hankook and she also has Eibach 30mm lowering springs.

Does anyone know where to get some 16" alloys in Perth? I've asked at the Bob Jane store in Osborne Park but they told me nothing was available...

And what sort of price should I be looking for?

                    G'day Tombi,

Are the X5 rims a straight up bolt on or do they require spacers or some sort of modification?

                    Cheers,

                    Sherwy.

                      X5 wheels fit straight on.

You have to get different bolts if my memory is correct.

Range Rover wheels also fit straight on

                      Different bolts are definitely needed.

I dont know what AUS wheels might fit.

May be we should/could have a list somewhere?

Check this out for all the answers,

If you have a LWB the 285 will fit on the back with plenty of side door clearance.

                            Hi,

I have some 17" x 8" wide BMW X5 alloy wheels to go on my T5, however it appears that tyres are the BIG problem. My placard inside the drivers door states the tyres must be 106T (950Kg) rated. Which seams a little crazy as its GVM is 3000Kg.

Does the load rating change for different wheel sizes? As I notice a lot of posts on this forum state they are using 101/103s?

If so how do I find the load rating for some 17" tyres?

                            Thanks in advance
                            Alex

Genuine 19inch Touareg wheels ( from the R5 version ) with 245/45 19 Kumho tyres load rated at 102. Source some 19 or 18 inch R5 Toureg wheels and keep the genuine look ? I took off a set of 18inch Cross 5's after 3 years, they looked cheap and the lacquer peeled quickly - steer clear.

TeeFiveDude, those wheels look really nice. Can you tell me what GVM your plate says in your van? Mine is 3000Kg and also what tyre load rating it recomends? Mine only states for 16" wheels at 106T and nothing for 17" wheels etc...

                                Cheers
