An easy (& cheap) way of loosing the bread van look is to paint the steelies. Either colour co-ordinate or go the BLACK!

T5 Rims

G'day IVO.
Thanks for posting that link. I did see them on Ebay a few days ago. I've been posted back home to Townsville, so drove here via Canberra, Melbourne, Canberra and then Balgal Beach (60 kms Nth of Townsville last week with my 1947 Indian Chief motorcycle in the back, took 4 big days).
On the way, I stopped off at the Gold Coast and purchased a set of Genuine VW T5 Dakar 18 inch rims in near pristine condition. Great find, and I'm waiting for Bob Jane Townsville to call me today to tell me the Falken tyres have arrived.
Can't wait, but the wife will have a sense of humour failure, I know that!

Vw 18 Inch Dakar Rims for T5

G'day Rob.
These genuine rims:
I have the part number etc, just need to find it. VW printed the details out for me and they are correct load rating for the T5 Van and Caravelle.
Got a phone call from the tyre shop yesterday, Falken supplier wouldn't know if their backside was on fire, so I'm fitting Yokohama Advan ST 235/18/50 R18 101W's.
Hope I don't have to wait too long over the X Mas break.

Got a phone call from Bob Jane's yesterday arvo, the Yokohama ADVANS have finally arrived (God things move slowly over X-Mas) so will get them fitted to my 18 inch VW Dakar rims on Friday. (Moving house today and tomorrow).
Once the van is lowered, I can kiss the Bread truck look goodbye forever!!!

Yep, that's them. I haven't seen them on a van before, so thanks for the photos. Now I'm really excited about getting them fitted. I'll post a few shots of the white T5 with them fitted on Friday.

You’ve done well to find a set of those rims, looking forward to seeing your pictures.

I’ve been looking into a set of rims as well but the problem is the tyre placard on my van specifies a minimum load rating of 102. Once you go larger than 17” its hard to find tyres with that sort of load rating unless I go larger diameter. I know the Multivan sport with the 18” Dakar rims has 101 tyres as standard so surely 101's are ok for other models. What does your placard say? Mine is a 4-motion version so maybe that’s the difference???

Buggar, now you've got me worried.
I just checked my placard, and yep, W103 for 17's onwards.
My Yokies are rated at W101 (recommended by the Bob Janes fella.)
As you mentioned, if they suit the multivan with 8 people on board, then surely any other van should be ok. Mine is mostly empty with just myself in it. Max load is my bike, me and the wife at the same time, and that wouldn't equal 8 people.
I'm sure it's just an insurance issue. I know Yokohama had a higher rated tyre for the 18 inch rim, so I may discuss this with Bob Jane T Mart.
