  • Centre Bore Difference of 0.4mm, is it an issue?

I am looking at putting a set of steel wheels on my T5 and I like the look of the ROH Blac Trak. Only issue is the centre bore size is 65.5mm which is 0.4mm bigger than the T5 hub size. Is this and issue as I doubt a 0.4mm spigot is feasible?

    Any feedback much appreciated.

We fitted Holden Alloy wheels with the exact same stud pattern as the Van , when they fitted them they fitted a hub spacer to each wheel and they have been there for 12 years with no problems .PS before some one jumps on me yes they were load rated as they came off a Holden V8 Crewman . I have been checked by Qld Transport and they were all ok .

There is a difference between a hub centric spacer and a wheel spacer though. One fills in around the stub to enlarge it to fit the wheel centrally. The other spacer is to widen the track and is illegal Australia wide unless fitted at the factory

Not sure what your pointing out ours was to keep the wheel centralised once fitted not a spacer behind the studs .

Was quoting the correct terms to differentiate between the two. Thats all

I would see if its possible to get ROH to do the required centre bore as a special for you. Alternatively I would get the centre bored out further so a decent thickness centering ring could be made and fitted. On my Touareg the centering spigot on the hub has a slight taper to it to aid in seating the wheel so you may want to accurately check the diameter at the base of the spigot as it may be closer to the actual ROH wheel centre hole

The wheels will wobble ever so slightly, even with only 0.4mm of a gap.

It will be noticable while driving (would drive me nuts) and will eventually result in uneven wear on the tyres.

I did post that we fitted a " hub spacer " call it what you want but hub is very different to stud spacers which as you pointed out are illegal .
