  • VW skullduggery .

My wifes 2012 T5.1 flashed up a brake symbol on the dash a couple of times in the last few weeks , I knew it was close to needing pads at least as the last service it was reported that it would need new pads at the next service . So I ordered some Bremtec Euroline pads from Brakes Direct [EX GSL Rally sport ] Now my 2004 T5 has those warning sensors on back and front pads so they give a warning when worn down to a certain level . Now as the light came on in my wifes van I figured yes time to replace the pads , well thank you VW it seems that they scrimped on our van as there were NO sensors on any wheel ????? . The new pads came with the sensor and connector but no where for it to plug into , how in the hell did the warning signal come on if there are no connectors on the original pads . Skullduggery methinks . Now tommorrow I will be replacing the pads on my old 2005 T5 as well and I know from previous pads and rotor changes it DOES have a connector on diagonol wheels .

Might be sensing the fluid level?
No sensors on my 2012 either.
I'm forever cutting them off the pads!

yeah, as pads wear the fluid drops.
Had intermittent brake sensor thingy on mine, till i looked at the fluid.Mostly came on going in and out of driveways

Thanks guys that could be the case , but I am blowed why the symbol indicates brakepads around a wheel why not a fluid level indicator . I know its the same symbol as my 2005 T5 as it does have the sensors on diagonal wheels . But in this day and age when they are pushing more and more safety into our cars why in the hell would they delete a fairly important warning feature .
