Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    SERVICING: elastic drive coupling etc

    Hi Guys ....have a 2008 5 cyl Doublecab motion and the next service due includes the replacement of the elastic drive coupling and freewheel for the alternator drive and air conditioning drive etc.

    Has anybody had this service done and what was the cost??

    Oh and btw does this model have a factory fitted diesel particle filter??

    Yes, this one woud have a DPF.

    The drive couplings are fairly pricey on their own. The Air Con/Power steer one is fairly easy to do, but the alternator one is a pain.

      ...and it's more expensive to not get them done.
