Hi Guys ....have a 2008 5 cyl Doublecab motion and the next service due includes the replacement of the elastic drive coupling and freewheel for the alternator drive and air conditioning drive etc.

Has anybody had this service done and what was the cost??

Oh and btw does...

Our 2008 duel cab transporter td5 6 speed manual 165000km.
We are getting a high whistling sound when when accelerating ect doe's not do it on idle.
Dealer says its the ac/alt coupling what one i don't know as far as i can see there is two one for ac one for alt.
quoted $800.00 to...

Just called local VW dealer, they want $200 for the coupling for the aircon compressor?
Part only.
Is this right?

My T5 has a whining noise coming from the engine bay that is consistent with the rpm's ( If I give it a bit of throttle the sound gets slightly louder). I believe it may be a belt or something along those lines.

I had a look at the 180k km service and it states "elastic drive coupling...
