Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Kind EGR Engineers.

The very Kind Engine Engineers made the EGR pipe so easily accessible, I had to fit a reducer..

So far So good, no ECM light. Tried to upload a pic, not allowing me.

I reckon I halved the hole size in the stainless steel gasket, where the EGR pipe bolts to the Cooler.

10 minute job, after making the new gasket.

Its my hope, that it slightly reduces the amount of Exhaust Gases potentially blocking up the inlet tract..If I blocked it completely, the ECU would light up on the dash, this way it hasnt triggered any codes, though it may reduce the build up.... May.

            Not while under warranty still.

lol you don’t think welding a reduction (washer) into the system may void your warranty [emoji38][emoji23][emoji38][emoji23][emoji38]
