1000km and counting. Everything starting to settle in, engine feels smooth. No funny noises or leaks, clutch feels like it’s well on its way to being worn in.
That engine bay looks so tidy. Nearly looks factory but obviously far from it. You've got to be proud of that.
I'm just waiting for Louis to offer a group buy on engine builds to jump on board

Thanks Sam, that was the goal. Simple, tidy and functional. Think the Black helps the factory look as well as draws the eye away if the boys in blue ever wanted a look under the bonnet. Also a lot easier to keep clean when I’m working on it haha.

Yeah looks stock apart from that massive Turbo squashed in there and the external gate in your face
Few small updates. Just shy of 1400kms on the clock now and the car feels good. First small logs yesterday so will be working on boosted files this week
Got a billet dipstick and funnel from Aldo, but for some reason the cable length was longer than the factory dipstick so I had to have a new end crimped on and then marked the min/max lines and trim it to size. Keep that in mind for anyone wanting one in future. Pics posted below.
Also have some bonnet vents underway. Couldn’t find any off the shelf I was happy with so I’m haven’t them made locally. Drawings are with the laser cutters so they are getting those ready for cutting this week.
KAP fire extinguisher bracket installed - 10 min install job and fits in there nice and secure.
Last but not least, had a mate bend a piece of sheet alloy for a coil pack cover so I can insulate one side of it after powder coating to keep some unwanted heat off the coil packs and wiring on top of the cam cover. This paired with the new vents should keep things noticeable cooler all throughout the engine bay.
the first time I saw your number plate I read it as "V8 Before It", I realise it's probably meant to be "V8 Bait", but I always read it the other way...

Haha, yeah figured if I’m going to get vents made, I may as well go big! They work really well too, pull up after a drive and you can feel the hot air flowing out of all 3.
You’re not the first person to read it that way. “Did this guy have a v8 before the polo, or is he bait to my v8?” [emoji848][emoji38]
