Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cool - as long as i didn't rattle MACCAA, ..who prefers his actions to speak louder than words. The only thing he's ever asked me is "what time you get at Winton", told him, a week later the determined New Sth Welshman crosses the broader into VIC, hits Winton, then sends me a short message telling me he beat my best time by .5sec - which was his way of saying "cop that ya c***".

      I don't do times. I do fun.

I'd buy a faster car if I wanted times.

Heres a pic of the downpipe to have a look at - the upper one is the polo, The lower a MKV GTI Golf (2.0T).

You can see the primary & secondary cats stacked in the polo, where the golf runs the primary right next to the turbocharger & the secondary 2 feet away. You can see the golf runs much larger cats as well.

Then I pulled one of ours out with the Euro emissions 4 cat on it for comparison & you can see the difference (our system uses flanged joints).

I also worked out our down pipe is 2.9kg's lighter - now that's got to be worth something

That looks very nice and shiny

          I see what you mean.

          1 more question...
MAY cause a catalyst efficency light to appear on stock software - no problem with APR software.
Does that mean won't show the light even when running APR software in the stock program? I'd be switching it back for my girlfriend to drive

No problem, we take care of this in the standard mode as well.

Please keep us updated when these will be ready. I am thinking of doing the APR chip and downpie all in one go. I live in Sydney so I would imagine that it would take a few days for them to get the downpipe from Brisbane once it becomes available.

I'd suggest, seeing Guy has indicated he'll mfr these is batches of 6, that you place an order with your local APR dealer, and then you can be assured of it all being available.

I have my car booked in on Tuesday the 25th to get the APR chip, downpipe, TIP and engine mount fitted.

I'm getting the high-flow metal cat.

I believe Guy got them in today or they will be tomorrow (but he's overseas on a 'business' trip). Been in contact with Alex and Harding Performance for a few days.

I'd suggest doing it all at once is a bit of a waste ef enjoying each upgrade....

IMO I think doing the chip and downpipe seprately will allow you to appreciate the power gains individually .....

Doing too much at once seem to blur the benefits together and you don't get that feel good factor as much. There is nothing like doing a bit and then feeling good about the gains. It tends to wear off quite quickly so the next 1 may only be a few weeks down the track anyway.

Also want to know if the price includes fitment though ....
